SAN FRANCISCO -- A prankster is getting points for creativity after hacking an electronic traffic sign in San Francisco warning of a "Godzilla Attack."
CBS San Francisco reports that the sign was spotted on Van Ness Avenue Wednesday night, reading "Godzilla Attack - Turn Back."
The mobile sign was supposed to be warning drivers about traffic delays during Sunday's Bay to Breakers foot race.
The sign has since been fixed.
This is not the first time someone has hacked an electronic traffic sign to warn of impending danger. In 2012, someone changed a sign in Maine to read "Zombies Ahead" while a traffic sign in Loomis, California was changed to read "Caution Loose Gorilla!"
I like these kinds of attacks. It brings attention to lax security in things we take for granted. It allows the common man to see the problem and ask why is this possible. It does this in a fun way where the danger is minimal and may help fix the issue for when the danger may not be so minimal.

It is pronounced "Godzirra" in Japanese.

Seeing Godzilla help thrash SF was pretty awesome, no doubt!

Nothing could be more devastating than a "Sharknado"...

Perhaps, but the Sharknado struck Los Angeles, not SF.

That's like asking the difference between Denver and Boulder.
I saw the new Godzilla last night and absolutely fucking loved it.

Exactly, and the difference is what?
Oh yeah, Boulder is just a little closer to the hills......

SF reminds me a whole lot of Denver. Very similar nightlife, age group, and political stances.

Who'd you hear that from? Because Godzilla raked in $93 million (http://www.imdb.com/chart) in it's first weekend.
Well ruthabaga for one.. But also someone I know that seems to like lots of the movies I like so the opinion is valid.
Does opening weekend money make a difference anymore with it costing $12 for a ticket?

How much a film makes on its first weekend is no sure sign of quality. The box office can also be affected by not having any other competing activities, the quality (or lack thereof) of competing films, smart publicity, etc. Popularity has nothing to do with quality -- the Obama and Clinton administrations are/were leading indicators of that principle.
Like Aloha said, and opening weekend proves nothing except the marketing campaign was successful. Now we have word of mouth and reviews to propel it in the following weeks... I saw it Sat, loved it and talked to some people who didn't like it as much. I can only state my opinion and say how much I enjoyed it then let everyone else see for themselves and form their own opinion.

Ah, well, if two people say it sucks. 3 people here say it's awesome, (https://www.ar-15.co/threads/24382-Movie-Thread/page124) so I guess now it's good again?

I have heard reviews that cover the whole gamut.
Most of the negative reviews I've seen are people upset that Godzilla wasn't in full frame for the entire 2 hours. Ignoring that he's never been the central character in any of the movies. He's always been a plot device, and the story has always been about Humanity's attempts to stop the assault.
Is it safe to say many negative reviewers haven't seen the originals?

Why I did not like it:
**** SPOILER ALERT ******
- Only interesting character in the movie (Bryan Cranston) dies within 30 min.
- Ken Watanabe character is undeveloped and seems to be in some kind of constant meditation...
- Yep, they did recycle a set from Prometheus as the "skeleton cave" in the Philippines.
-Note to the US Airforce: you need to have your plane protected against EMPs....No really, I know they are, but it seems that they are not, or maybe it's because it would cut the movie to 20 min if they were[Sarcasm2]
-you see Godzilla 4 times in the movie....
-It has to be easier to move a full ICBM by train, than to just detach one of the warheads and carry it by truck. (looks like the ICBM were recycled prop from the first Superman movie)
-Note to all HiLo jumper out there: you MUST wear bright red flares while jumping.... you know... so that people and monster can see you!
-Bridge scene with the Muto, is so predictable I took a bathroom break.
-The CGI is rather generic and mostly unexciting.
Don't get me wrong: it's an ok movie to rent on Netflix, but not a blockbuster, and I regret the money I spend watching it.

Godzilla ain't sheeeiit unless he is in black and white, poorly dubbed over and smashing toy tanks and balsa wood houses.

Where was MechaGodzilla? Mothra? Gamera? The miniature japanese twins? And no Ultraman.

I think a lot of it is that negative reviewers are basing their reviews on what they wanted the movie to be, rather than what it actually is.

I wouldn't say it sucked but I'm in the camp that did not like.
Nothing could be more devastating than a "Sharknado"...
Fireproof sharks in a Firenado...
Love it or hate it, they've greenlit the Godzilla sequel as of Yesterday...

Except they were called MUTO... (Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism)

No, no. When they go back to their old house, there is a terrarium in there, with a large chrysalis inside it, and a piece of paper taped to the outside with "Mothra" written on it.

Wow, I musta missed that part. I did just hear some Asian countries had an extra scene at the end hinting at a mothra sequal.
