View Full Version : I need a good belt
Stiff daily wear belt under 40$
must be stiff so my holsters stay up without sagging
style dosent matter too much to me should just look like a normal not dressy belt
i wanted the riggers belt from skd but mama bear shot down the 65$ price tag :(
I have been wearing this for over a year. Keep a small stash of real money coins for barter. I also carry every day. The zipper is heavy duty, all I do is tuck the pull string back into the pouch when I zip it up so it doesn't hang down.

EDIT: They are not in stock but are an amazon prime item at $31.81 fiat dollars for an extra large.
5.11 is cheap and stiff. Only bad thing I encouter is that edges wears off fairly fast. I still like it, because it is extremely stiff.

This... I've been using the 5.11 for over 5 years now, even having to modify it for weight loss, and it is still chugging along fine.

im wanting the 1 3/4" with the polymer stiffing unless you guys think that will be uncomfortable for daily wear

I think the polymer lined would be really stiff. Mine is the 5 stitch and it is more than enough for daily wear.
I believe the 5.11's at Sportsmans are right in your...er "mama's" price range.

i have the 5 stitch wilderness belts. I have worn them everyday for years with a holster. no problems, to twisting, no sagging. works great. and not too expensive.
1.5" Aker B21 (http://www.copsplus.com/prodnum9563.php). I wear one all the time, holster or not, it's very comfortable. A bit over $40, has the polymer liner for stiffness.

If you prefer leather, I picked up a Carhart heavy duty work belt for work, and it does great job for a carry belt. And it is below your price point.

There are usually 1 or 2 guys at the Sertoma gun show who make excellent heavy leather belts.

I've been wearing that one for 7 years.

Another vote for the Wilderness Tactical Instructor belt.
Stop by local Tandy Leather store and pick up a saddle cinch. Very easy to modify for personal use.
I went with this one, and so far I like it a lot.

Crossbreed makes belts and I would think they are of the same quality as their holsters. They are having a Memorial Day sale starting the 23rd. Use code MD15 for 15% off your order. Crossbreedholsters.com

Yet another vote for 5.11 as I've been using the same leather one for many many years every day and it works flawless and costs about $50 as I recall. I've tried belts that were more expensive and less expensive and always come back to this one. I bought one in brown and it just hangs waiting to be worn as I'm too lazy to swap out the black one that is still as good as new probably 7 or 8 years later.
I'd give you a few I have spare.. but they're 32-34 waist... [Coffee]
Wilderness Instructor belt.
I finally bought one
purchased a 1 1/2" 5 stitch
this is by far the nicest belt I've ever owned it's the first belt that actually holds my pants up without having to be suuuuuper tight with my old leather belt and glock 30 I would be pulling up my pants and adjusting my pistol every 50 feet or so this belt gets set in the morning and keeps everything where it starts out at all day!!!
could not be happier
^^ glad you like it I was going to suggest an ares belt. I bought one a few years ago and it's still holding strong, only negative was the wait time

I got a good deal on an Uncle Mike's reinforced version. It's decent and very stiff. I like it, but I will definitely get a Wilderness next. This one will last me long enough to get one or two Wilderness though.
