View Full Version : Think he'll run in 2016? I sure hope so!

No I'm not talking about Rand Paul or Ted Cruz (although I would vote for either one if they ran)... Dr. Ben Carson is "considering" (as he told Hannity) it. But the real reason I could honestly vote for Dr. Carson well before anyone else: "It is not something that I desire to do. And my hope is that someone will come along who excites the people, who really understands what America is about, and doesn't want to change it into something else. And if that happens, then I won't do it." The underlined part alone is reason enough for me- George Washington was reluctant to be president, and IIRC, Jefferson said something about being wary of those who want to be in politics as they are not in it for the right reasons.
Now, I hate the View, but damn did he just kick ass! Check it out...

He says some great things, and has such a disarming way of debating. [Beer]

What do you know about Dr. Carson? I knew nothing, but a quick search yielded this......

I've never heard him speak on the 2nd, but from his other discussions and speeches on everything else, he's on point. I think he might just need to be educated on 2A more, and unlike most libs and even a few republicans, he might be actually open to having an informed opinion change his mind.

I like Carson, seems well grounded and the type that will put the well being of the nation first.

I watched it; talk is cheap....

I do believe that, however; not any one man can fix it! Think we need to cleanse congress, and get more like him in.

Never heard of this guy till your clip above. I don't know enough to have an opinion past the statement that clip made a good first impression. Thanks, I am going to have to learn more about the guy.

A candidate with no political background? Don't waste my time with this BS! (The voters view, not necessarily mine.)

He has answered a 2a question a bit squirly in March of 2013 -

“When asked by Glenn Beck if people should be allowed to own semi-automatic weapons, Dr. Benjamin Carson said: “It depends on where you live. I think if you live in the midst of a lot of people, and I’m afraid that that semi-automatic weapon is going to fall into the hands of a crazy person, I would rather you not have it.”

But then he says something like 'He said he "used to think they needed to be registered, but if you register them they just come and find you and take your guns."' in March of this year.

He has a lot of good things to say, but I'm still on the fence with regards to his 2a stance. Too easy to tell the audience what they want to hear and do something else when elected.

99.9% of the black community voted for a community organizer with no real political experience, because he was black( in their eyes)
Imagine the conundrum of another black man running, yet with an opposing point of view. Oh the race baiters are nervous.

If he runs as a R, he has my vote, because of his color.

I think part of the problem is that most candidates for most offices are nothing more than professional politicians ... his lack of political experience is actually a plus.

That said, his views on the 2A prevent me from giving my full throated support. (but hey, he's better than Christie or Jeb)

Really? [insert comment about living under rock]

He bitch slapped Obama to his face a while back and has been the darling of the conservative blogesphere/talk radio folk ever since.

The one thing that does make me like him is that he has made it clear that he really doesn't want to run and will only do so if there is no other alternative ... if this is genuine then he's exactly what all American politicians should be.

He is squishy about the 2A because he never grew up or is now that educated on the issue. He may have not thought about it for much of his life with the complexicity of his profession. He definatelly understands health care issues, understands how capitalism is always better than Gov expecially with the history of minorities, and has a firm base in his belief of God.

Repubs will keep control of Congress and has a great shot with taking the Senate back. Dr. Carson definately does not have an agenda like Obama and Holder in their distain for the 2A or the Constitution for that matter.
