Cops recovered a 9 MM Highpoint Rifle with a defaced serial number, one 380 Cal loaded semi-automatic handgun, a 357 revolver, as well as a 38 caliber revolver.
Police also found 50 rounds of 45 caiberl ammunition, 50 rounds of 9MM ammunition, 67 rounds of 347 caliber ammunition, 50 rounds of 38 caliber ammunition, 17 rounds of 380 caliber ammunition, and a 45 caliber magazine.
“It was enough to arm a small army or militia,” a police source said of the bust. “These guys were ready for war.”
Who would ever need so many guns or so much ammo?

If I was going to make a parody story about the NYPD finding an "Arsenel" I'd have written it with more guns than that.

Awwwww Z, you beat me to it by a few seconds!
Now that the facepalm is out of the way, I bet these cops would start shitting sideways bricks if they saw any of our "arsenals". [LOL]
OMG! THIS IS AN ARSENAL! There are TWO AR-47 tactical sniper assault rifles in this guys basement with A THOUSAND BULLETS!!! HE WAS PLANNING A WAR!!!!!!!!!!!! [panic]

Arsenal. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Admittedly: "As if that wasn’t enough, cops also recovered eight swords, one machete, some nunchakus and eight Codeine tablets, cops said." The headlines said an "arsenal of guns and swords", and I think you have to admit, if you count the guns and the swords it's pretty close to an arsenal. Interesting that it's one sword per Codeine tablet. Coincidence?

And the picture in the link displaying this "arsenal" there is a BB rifle and a pellet pistol. I wonder if they considered adding in the number of BBs and pellets to inflate the ammunition count.
As it was listed, that was a pretty poor stash of ammo, and firearms for that matter........

That article has me laughing! What sensationalism. Can't believe they didn't list the kitchen knives and nerf guns.

No need to make a parody story cause the NY Post will do it for you!
As was also said, that is a horrible ammo stash!

Automatic 15 years if a Bo staff was found.
I'm not worried about that stuff. The 3 cell phones on the table are what scare me most. Why would anyone need that many cell phones? [panic]

Only if it's an automatic Bo staff with a high capacity extended reach [ROFL2]
Does a .357 Mag also count as a .38 special?
Automatic 15 years if a Bo staff was found.
With more grip tape than a normal person would need no doubt.

Um, this is sarcasm; right?
1 rifle & 3 handguns. 234 rounds of various ammunition. 8 swords, 1 machete, and 1 pair of nunchaku's.
I'm curious what constitutes an "arsenal" by your count. If your comment wasn't sarcasm, your definition apparently differs greatly from what I believe constitutes an "arsenal".
Ignoring the minimal firearm count, I have 0 swords but I have more machete's and nunchaku's than that myself.
“It was enough to arm a small army or militia,” a police source said of the bust. “These guys were ready for war.”
Sweet Jesus. It's a good thing those folks out in Nevada weren't so well armed.
Today at the store, we all agreed that in case of a tornado, we would each grab a hipoint to ensure we wouldn't get lifted off the ground.

This is sarcasm, yes. I define as arsenal as "all the guns and ammo I would own if I had the money and safe space".
I'm willing to bet a great many people in NYC would agree with the characterization of that being an arsenal. That, is what's scary.
I know a couple people that have, what I would consider an "arsenal". And they consist of at least 120 various, awesome things.
That's the sad part. I've been amazed lately at the amount of whispers, and comments I hear behind my back when I open carry (which is NOT often). The things I hear, make it sound like these people had no idea that guns were even legal to own. It's f*#@ing pathetic.

Buddy of mine is a hedge fund manager. That income helped him build an arsenal. They'd probably call in the National Guard, and I mean that literally.

Now you're talkin.
Just think of how many people could be armed with all those guns...and the amount of ammo...my god! How could he carry the sheer weight of it by himself. Probably has a armored Datsun truck with a mount in the bed for the hi point.
It's that "45 caiberl ammunition", that shit's evil.....

Looking Pashtun has nothing to do with it, of course.
WTF?
Anyone here generally take less than that to the range?

Per person? Honestly, I only take 1 machete.

...Officers recovered an arsenal of weapons, including three nerf guns with six round magazines, and two nerf guns with twenty round box magazines, exceeding the legal limit. A box of delicious cereal numbers was found defaced near the weapons. Additionally, approximately one hundred darts were found nearby. "Good god!" the police chief commented. "They could arm approximately five preteens, or perhaps three adult programmers with this arsenal, enough to qualify as a small MILITIA!"...
Were the cereal numbers sugar coated?
Nothing in a rifle caliber, even- the "rifle" was a pistol caliber carbine...
and why the 45 ammo? did they not find the weapon those were for?
(like the senior prank where 2 sheep were let loose in the school, with spray painted "2" and "3" on them... they searched for hours looking for a "1" that didn't exist)

I won't waste my time unless I'm practicing with at least 200 rounds for the stick, and 100 for the sidearm. I'm going camping this weekend, and I'll have three pistols and my rifle, with 750 rounds of assorted ammo.

I guess that means I have an "arsenal" in my shop.
Disassembled.

Pfft... I have more than that at work...
Seriously, WTF is the author of the article smoking? That's not an arsenal, that's what you carry on your person to help protect your arsenal...
What is 347 caliber ammunition?
And why dont I own one?
What is 347 caliber ammunition?
And why dont I own one?
Apparently, it's a TSA specific caliber...
ALERT: DHS bullet-buying continues, TSA solicits millions of rounds of ammunition. Take Action! Demand Congress to DEFUND and DISMANTLE the police state! (https://secure.conservativeactionalerts.com/caa_policestate/?a=2565)
Conservative American,
The Department of Homeland Security is soliciting more ammunition – this time for the Transportation Security Administration.
Seeing that TSA Agents operating within our nation’s airports are unarmed, the Administration’s recent request for 3,454,000 rounds (https://www.fbo.gov/?s=opportunity&mode=form&id=b05fbc23d218ed979d1631a8c62f4b70&tab=core&_cview=0) of .347 caliber “training ammunition” is astounding.
Government Security News reports (http://www.gsnmagazine.com/node/32543?c=education_training) that, with that amount of ammunition, “the TSA could fire off more than 9,400 rounds per day, every day of the year, to consume that entire quantity annually.”

234 rounds ...pretty sure I have more social ammo than that in magazines.
beyond that, 234 rounds is at best a mediocre morning at the range.
Jeez I usually have more ammo than that in my truck.

It's a good thing he didn't have a brick of 22 then he would've had enough ammo for a battalion!

Where's that?
Not completely sure. I Googled Springfield Arsenal and many images came up and I picked two to post. The building may be Frankfort but I'm pretty sure the rifles are in the Springfield Armory museum.

As for the arsenal, that ain't enough weaponry for a housewife to fight her way out of a hostile hair salon in Brooklyn.
Sadly, the folks in NYC actually do see this haphazard amalgamation of junk as a "threat" from which the public must be protected; or at least discouraged from having themselves.
