I have seen some post about brewing beer; any of you a "Brew Master"? Or any of you know one?
EDIT: I want to ask a 2nd part to this- What is your favorite type's of brew? Stout, wheat, red, etc? If your prefer a whisky, malt, liqueur please feel free to add that to your comment. If you like more than one please share!
Thanks,
J [Beer]
There is a home brew store right by me... I've been in there a few times and the guys are pretty knowledgeable.. I just haven't pulled the trigger and tried it. It's on S Broadway just north of bellview.
Dry Dock brewery started as a home brew store.. now they're churning out deliciousness.
I homebrew (less now being diabetic) and I worked at The Brew Hut for a year and Dry Dock for another year right before they expanded and shifted over to their new location. It was a good way to expand my knowledge and equipment since at the time Kevin could only pay in store credit. If you stop in at Brew Hut, Steve Headstream is the manager and was president of Foam on the Range brewing club, also a guy there Nick is really knowledgeable. Really anyone behind the counter there can help you start up, but those are the two I still know the best. I still brew occasionally, and make meads and ciders, but I can't keep 30 gallons of alcoholic beverages around anymore.

All good info guys; Thanks! I'm trying to find a"brew master" who can work on developing a recipe for a project I'm starting. Thanks for the tips.
J
I wouldn't consider myself a brew master because then I'd be getting paid to brew, but I do know that building a recipe can be as easy or as complex as you want it to be. Those of us "hobby" brewers on here would probably be willing to give it a collective try. Every "Brew Master" started out as "Brew Amateur", maybe one of us is a master and didn't know it.
Have any details you'd be willing to share?
My name is Robert and I'm... a "Brew Amateur".

I resemble that too, cept my names Kris =)
ohhhhhh... I wish i could find a city that doesn't have a microbrewery to start a business.
I totally have the theme too, and a few good recipes. Problem, is paying the bills until you make a profit.
home brewer here. what is this project?
While we are on this subject... maybe we should hijack this thread an coordinate a COAR Brew fest?
I second. perhaps a shoot n brew? maybe in that order.
I may know a thing of 2 about making beer... All grain brewer with a lager brewing chamber... Worked in a couple breweries and a distillery too

Have any details you'd be willing to share? Can't share the details in the open forum. I have to agree on the possible hidden talent part. However there is a cost associated with experimenting; not sure I can afford to trial, and error.
I would be willing to sample the goods though!! [Beer]
My name is Robert and I'm... a "Brew Amateur". This isn't a precursor to an AA meeting; but nice to meet ya![Coffee]

home brewer here. what is this project? I am not at liberty to discuss yet; stay tuned.
While we are on this subject... maybe we should hijack this thread an coordinate a COAR Brew fest? Bre fest would be cool, and could maybe help me find the hidden "Brew master" among us. I'm game, how many in?
I second. perhaps a shoot n brew? maybe in that order. That would be fun! Goes along with the project....[Beer]
I may know a thing of 2 about making beer... All grain brewer with a lager brewing chamber... Worked in a couple breweries and a distillery too I would definitely like to talk with ya. What is this "All grain brewer with a lager brewing chamber" you speak of?
EDIT: added an additional question to the op.
Taster only. Don't have the time but would like to get into making my own.
Putting together a kegerator, if anyone needs some testing done.
I like a nice pale ale or maibock for regular drinking, I also have a nice light mead recipe that when carbonated in a corny keg and served chilled is refreshing. Been drinking some Angry Orchard trying to figure out their apple combo, it's also great to cook chicken and pork with. I won 3rd place at Brew Hut competitions twice and 3rd at the CO state fair for a peach wheat beer that my wife and her friends love. Odd that it's always been an extract with steeped grains recipe. Don't let anyone tell you that you can not make good beer with extract recipes.

Truth I won with my German altbier recipe extract steeped used good yeast and fermented properly
I'm the rare fellow that does not enjoy pale ales. HOWEVER, since they are SOOOOO popular, and EVERY mix pack I buy has at least two different pales in them, I've built up a high tolerance and don't even hesitate to drink them now. My favorite are strong browns and English ales.

Just got into extract brewing at the start of the year after watching my dad and brother in law brew for years. Initial start up can be pretty expensive, especially if you go straight to kegging (which is what I did as it takes away from "hoping" your sugar mix will carbonate in the bottles). It is also very cool to have people over and be able to pour them a beer from tap. I used a 7cu ft freezer turned keezer with a temp controller for my set up. As much as I like supporting local home brew stores, I always find they are fairly overpriced when comparing with retailers online. I will usually shop at northernbrewer online and pick up yeast/kits and any last minute items from a local store. Only two beers on tap, one is an IPA (clone from GCB) and the other a red. [Beer]

Uh, Okay, I got 90 seconds into that guy's stupid rant and didn't hear anything true or funny. I happen to like home brew.
