Thoughts on Kel Tec

I was looking at a Kel Tec P11 9mm today. It looks small, holds 10+1 and is considerably less than a Glock or XD the same size. It had a loooong trigger pull, but otherwise looked like a good deal. Anyone have experience with one?

Well I have the even smaller pf-9 and it's great.... Well it's great for cc.... Kinda snappy for a long day at the range....

I shot my buddies kel-tech when he was down last week. Damn hard trigger pull though.

this is true... it takes FOR EV ER to pull the trigger... however by the time i got through my first 100 rounds i was over it... the way i see it, if and when i need to use it in a self defense situation i will be able to pull it the 6 inches (not really quite that far) it make it go bang... That being said i feel 100 % safe with it being ready to go all the time because i do not think the trigger will ever be accidentally pulled the previously mentioned 6 inches... also it is super light, super thin, and shoots remarkably well for such a small snappy weapon.

I had one for a while. Nice and light, good capacity, but the trigger was unbearable. the length of pull was retarded, and the weight was insane...felt like 30 lbs. It shot pretty decent groups with the above issues. If it had a better trigger it would be an amazing CCW gun.

I have a PF-9 as well, for my summer carry gun. I agree the trigger is terrible, but i'm not target shooting with it. Recoil is insane. I actually took a dremel to the frame and buffed down the stupid lines and checkering so it would be more comfortable.

I've shot a P-11 too, for the money, they aren't bad guns. Very good B.U.G.

I also have a PF-9 and really like it. Sure, it's not the perfect gun, but it's one of the easiest guns out there to carry all day. I don't find the recoil terrible...of course I don't put lots of rounds through it in one session like I might some other guns. The trigger pull on mine is long but it's not overly heavy and it is very smooth. I'd guess it would come up at about 10-12 pounds if put on a scale. But it is long. And I've almost retired my P3AT since I got the 9mm.

I'm amazed at the accuracy (no, it's not a target-grade gun but it's great for what it's meant for) and reliability you get for the price. And I do like it much better than the P11.

Try shooting +p out of it. Then it's like a cannon. I agree about the accuracy, for such a short barrel it's quite impressive.
