Small earthquake rattles Greeley (http://www.denverpost.com/dnc/ci_25874760/small-earthquake-rattles-greeley)
We felt it at our place in Evans. It felt like someone ran into the house. I checked the yard and then went out front to see all of the neighbors out talking about it. I'm blaming it on fracking.

Hah. I just thought someone either rammed our house or was trying to knock down a wall to get in.
It felt alot like a diesel engine. since i was driving at the time

I don't bother getting out of bed for less than a 5.0 :)

And sometimes even in the 5's it's a decision

You never responded to my text, so I've just assumed that you've been dead this whole time.

I am blaming it on the super volcano rumbling in yellowstone...

There were earthquakes long before anyone was drilling for anything.
I like it here because the earth is more stable than a lot of other places. I've lived through some big quakes in California. Not fun. Now I notice when floors bounce in office buildings or when a heavy truck goes by on an overpass...and I wish I didn't.

It was sarcasm.

a 3.4? [ROFL1][ROFL2][ROFL3][LOL]
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/usc000r9pp
Oklahoma had a 3.7 and a 3.0 today as well... how much seismic activity do they have normally?
In Alaska, I thought a friend was playing a joke on me bouncing my car around when I was working under the dash... that was a 5.1
I slept through a 6.2 when I was 16...
(keep in mind, it's a base10 Logarithmic scale- so a 4.4 is 10X worse than a 3.4, and and 5.4 is 100X worse than a 3.4)
I always considered 4.0 the threshold for "noticing"... you could feel a 3.0 or higher, but if you freaked out every time you felt something that was that minor, you'd become paranoid.. I mean, I'd rather become paranoid over something related to the gov't... [Coffee]
It was sarcasm.
http://www.9news.com/story/news/local/2014/06/01/usgs-investigating-cause-of-rare-earthquake/9848385/
"You can have earthquakes this size just about anywhere in the country," Paul Earle, a seismologist with the USGS, said. "One of the possibilities is that this is a naturally occurring earthquake due to stresses that have naturally occurred in the earth's crust."
Many 9NEWS viewers asked if fracking had anything to do with the earthquake. Earle said earthquakes like this have been caused by underground disposal of fracking waste water, but it is far too early to determine if that was even going on in the area of the earthquake. A team of seismologists is investigating.

Now that is damn funny! Well played.
One really does have to wonder WTF is going on, quakes in unusual spots, sink holes, mudslides, fires etc.

C'mon, man, try to keep up. It's always manmade climate change.

I was about 1.5-2 miles from the epicenter. It was pretty loud. I thought a semi had wrecked or something blew up nearby.

I'm still blaming McCarp.....
If you have never seen a fault map of Colorado, you should. It looks like 20 spiderwebs overlaid on top of each other. Really is an interesting thing.

My thoughts exactly. Sounded like there was train yard inside my house.

Didn't feel a thing in Ft. Collins. Nothing. Being originally from SoCal I know earth quakes and traffic jams. Nothing in CO compares, thank God for that. If The BIG ONE ever hits SoCal there will be third world death count and destruction of biblical proportions as the soil liquefies and gas, water, electric, sewer services and the roads are destroyed. No water, electric, sanitation and no way to supply the survivors ... I am glad I live here and not there, just too damn many people there.
