So if they're holding your can....what's the next call? ATF?

Yeah, I would call BATFE as they'll likely be taking all of the class 3 items and perhaps also try reaching out to the managing partners of the investment group PM me for their contact info.

Something seems weird, if they were going to close the doors, fine that is their prerogative, why'd they need to show a police presence.

Same reason we use our security personnel to escort out individuals who've been fired - to ensure they only take personal possessions and no company owned property and to ensure no vandalism/sabotage occurs to company property. People can be unpredictable when they suddenly find they're out of a job.

Avoid the spin off then.

I've had one dealing with them and they took very good care of me. I realize some people had bad dealings with both sides which makes which side is at fault overall even harder to determine.

All I ever received from Paul was excuses, apologies and promises of awesome future stuff to be had with deal coins.

It took 1.5 YEARS to receive 2 308 lowers after being promised 2 months when I ordered them. Then to find out after cerakoting them that they don't take 3rd gen pmags unless I wanted to pay them to fix their design with extra mill work.

Get this shit. I was approved back on December 8th and no one contacted me. I've been on the phone with the ATF this morning and awaiting another phone call. Realllllly pisses me that all this wouldn't be an issue if they'd done what they were suppose to do and contact me.

That sounds to me like the investors (the money guys) didn't like the way their money was being managed/spent. My guess, the attempt to catch up and make right with all the people they screwed wasn't bringing any new money in, money was only going out so they put a stop to it.

Dear Shadow Ops Customer:

We are primary investors in Shadow Ops Weaponry, LLC. and were forced to shut it down due to apparent improprieties in the conducting of its business. We called in the ATF and the Colorado Attorney General's Office and the plant is under lock down and under investigation. We anticipate IRS involvement and possibly the U.S. Trustee and a Chapter 7 filing is likely. If a bankruptcy filing occurs you will be afforded a file number whereupon you can file a claim with the U.S. Trustee for what you believe is due you.

Under no circumstances do we accept, nor are we obligated, to assume or pay any of Shadow Ops Weaponry, LLC. debts.

Standard BS to CYA. It basically releases the "Investors" from liability. IMO this business was refunding money in such large quantities, they decided to file and make it look like something than it really is. I'd also not be surprised IF this "invesitgation" goes beyond the current employee pool. Figure the issues started 1+ years ago, maybe longer.

Update I finally got a return call from the local ATF office. Long story short, they told me they were working with the new owners and just have to go through a huge stack of papers to find my suppressors paperwork. In his words, "we have it and you'll get it soon."!!!!!!!

I would like like to add the guy I spoke to was extremely helpful, polite, and professional. He really gave the impression that everything was being handled.

Got a call from a fella with shadow ops. I had sent my lowers in due to incorrect tolerances in the lowers, my LPK would not fit so they said they paid for me to send them back along with my LPK. The dream they sold me was "we will fix the lowers and install LPK for you". Then shit hit the fan. Anyway dude today that I talked to said he had an ATF agent standing over his shoulder and It sounded busy in the shop.

When asked if lowers were fixed he said if he had to guess, probably not. Said there were parts in the box maybe my LPK? When asked about the one upper I was missing he said he didn't have any and to take it up with Paul russ who is responsible for all existing/past orders.
That is the conversation in a nutshell.

Folks, this thread has been left open to allow those who still have grievances with Shadow Ops to have a sounding board where other members can offer constructive advice. Unfortunately, those types of posts are mixed in with a lot of nonsense that doesn't need to be here. This is creating a growing opinion that it's time to shut this thread down.

I think we can probably all agree on two things in regards to Shadow Ops:
(1) Shadow Ops Weaponry has been a dismal failure from the start - to the extent that many customers were screwed by them with unsatisfied problems and unfulfilled orders.
(2) Former Shadow Ops employee & board member Sam worked diligently to try to make things right for our members.

Now, please refrain from posting here if you aren't a customer still seeking redress for your grievances or offering constructive advice to one who is.

Thank you!

Where is 'Paul' in all of this?

He was the first to go that day, the "investment group" foreclosed on all of his shares, forced him out, and then kicked everyone else to the curb since we were all of "his employees." At this point, they're even trying to bring criminal charges against him, saying that he embezzled tons of money out of the company :-/

The above is pretty much what I went through. After I contacted the ATFS and was given the local office, they could confirm that I had been cleared back in December. Then the Agent was able to confirm my can was in the building due to the inventory they (whomever) had done. Once I gave the Agent my description and serial number, he confirmed that it was in house and that I would get it.

I don't understand those statements either. An earlier post stated that they were over 750K in back orders with only about 250K of on hand product. That is a pretty big delta.

Prior to this latest disaster I talked with the Paul Russ on the phone. He fixed the issues with my lower and sent me a matching upper. I truly thought everything was slowly being turned around until this hostile takeover.

Lots of people are out of their money and it is ridiculous to start blaming the customers (as the new management is doing) and shutting the doors.

I feel bad for those who were screwed, but my feelings don't change anything or do anything for anyone. Anyone ever bought anything expensive; car, house, or made an investment and not received what they agreed to? Sometimes bad things happen. I don't know what this last posting means. I think they are in Chapter 7 Bankruptcy (liquidation) If it was me, I would be contacting the Colorado Attorney General.

It looks like Paul Russ is still out there. I thought Copper Kinetics was his business but I guess it represents the new owners of Shadow Ops?

Edit - This is an old post from late February.

Longmont Times Call did an article about this. Not sure if this has been mentioned. Fwiw.

Thank you!

Just to refresh the thread.

Just to refresh the thread.

Since they closed the doors and refuse to answer any emails or phone calls, there isn't any "constructive" advice to offer. Why keep the thread open?

Sorry for those who lost money to these folks.

Agreed.

Those of you still owed something from them need to contact the Colorado Attorney General quickly to find out how to get a claim in legally.

CLOSED.
