I'm sure it has to do with the 70th anniversary of D-Day. But thought I'd see if anybody else has seen it and know if they're flying for something specific (some kind of remembrance ceremony or something). Quad engine, turbo prop, WWII Era and marked. Saw it yesterday multiple times and today again just a few minutes ago. Assuming they're taking off and landing at Rocky Mountain Airport. This is the best pic my phone can take of it.
It's flying relatively low, so it's hard to miss when it flies over.

Both aluminum overcast and Memphis Belle will be in town this month. Just their yearly tours.

The B-17 Aluminum Overcast is coming back to Colorado for the B-17 Fly-in at Centennial Airport from June 18 to 22.
You won’t want to miss the opportunity to stand in the footsteps of the bombardier as you experience a rare mission flight and ground tour on this historic heavy bomber.
Check out the flight plan and details at WingsMuseum.org.

I've heard a B-17 fly over the house a couple of times this weekend. I had heard about the visit on the local news last week.
Yeah Weeze, that's a B-17 bomber, called the Memphis Belle. It's not the original Memphis Belle, but a recreation of it that was used in making the movie. It's a real B-17, just not the original Belle. Very cool airplane, I got some great photos and videos of her last year at Centennial, but I won't waste the brain cells to even think about driving to Broomfield to see it. I've been there before, never again.
Your pic looks like an old WWII image!
I saw it yesterday while I was cutting the grass. Came in low near the foothills going south. Always cool when I get to see them.

I've seen them about 4 times this weekend over the house!! Awesome sight. One just came over about an hr ago and he was low.
Random aside, for those with a half decent but no means cutting edge computer. There is a free to play (and unlike most non severe disadvantages to not buying in) game called War Thunder. Has a fairly arcadey easy game mode as well as severely difficult simulator modes where you are stuck in cockpit view and many people crash trying to land/take off. Even in arcade, quite a steep learning curve, and will be a fair amount of time grinding until you reach higher tier aircraft like B17.

Is the Memphis Belle up at Jeffco airport this week?
My father in law is visiting from texas this week. He won't be around for the Wings Over the Rockies event, but he'd love to get to see the plane, even sitting on the ground.
edit: oh well, found the web page for the Memphis Belle, looks like it was only around for this weekend, off to Oklahoma next weekend.
I saw it over my house a couple of times, love watching that bird fly.
It was flying out of broomfield.

Is wings over the rockies worth going to? I have heard very mixed reviews.

ANY aircraft museum is worth going to! Yes, go see it. It's not the Smithsonian, but it's got stuff you've never seen before.
Oh, speaking of The Memphis Belle, let me dust this off and put it here.....

For sure! Looks like there should be some flak bursts in the frame somewhere...

I wish they had more WW2 aircraft but i very much agree, it is worth while if you are interested in aviation, military or private.
ETA: As a side question does anyone know if there is still a PB4Y fire bomber. Hoser, Quib, anyone? I remember seeing it years back but have not seen it in a long time.

like others said not the greatest museum but as an airplane buff very cool
Besides it has the only "true" B-1A model in the world on display ( one of only 3 made the 4th prototype was more like the B-1B then the A model )
