They have 1/2 off for retirees tomorrow and I'm gonna go around 2pm.
I'm gonna give it another shot with that place and for half off I can't go wrong I guess.

Grey Nissan Titan and I will be shooting .22's.

Weather pending.

Shut down? They just opened it. You must be thinking of someplace else.

There was a piece on kdvr regarding a civilian accessible range on one of the bases. "Supposedly" being ordered to shutdown and or no longer allowing non military personnel access The concern was security related.. When my head defoggs I'll do some googlefu.

I was there yesterday and today and it is up an running. There were civilian and retired military shooting both days. The range is accessible without having to go on base. Side road is just before you hit Gate 20 at Fort Carson at exit 132 on I-25.

Well run range. On range 2, you can set up targets out to 300 yards and they have steel targets set up out to 600 yards. Range 1 is for El Paso County Sheriff's use only during the week, but may be available on weekends. Range goes out to a 1000 yards.

There are caliber limitations. No 300 Win and above for safety reasons, but they are working on putting in baffles that will allow longer range use. Check their website for info. http://www.mwrfortcarson.com/#!cmsc/ckyc
