We went to the gun range last Saturday, and met a friend there to try and decimate paper targets.

He had a 1911 frame .45 acp Magnum Research full-sized Desert Eagle. And he let me try it!

Oh my stars and garters. What a beautiful gun! It shoots like a dream.

I don't know why I started this thread. I guess I just wanted to let everybody know how twitterpated I was over this gun. [Love4]

Likewise, interesting way to describe your " reaction" it's nice when one has the opportunity to shoot something people know about, yet seldom see or handle. Let alone shoot.

It's really amazing to feel the differences in the many types of guns! The more I learn, the more I realize I have to learn.

...and it's so fun!

Think it's fun now, wait till you take delivery of your fist suppressor.

I'll put that on 'the list'- thanks for the suggestion! :)

Revive an established thread...

I've been a handgun shooter and competitor for decades now, and about a year ago I decided to start a journey into long range rifle shooting. My "I'm getting there" litmus test was to hit the White Buffalo at the Whittington Center in New Mexico, a 6 foot by 10-foot steel target at 1121 yards.

Forget the buffalo, this last Sunday that goal was well exceeded. Here are three hits out of four shots on a less than 2.5 by 5-foot steel target at 1000 yards. Waaaaay harder than the White Buffalo. That's my shoot'n buddy Doug doing the Vanna thing to give you an idea of the size of the target.

Equipment: Custom built 6.5 Creedmoor on a Remington 700 action, 1:8 McGowen Precision Barrel, Magpul chassis, Kahles 6-24x scope.

Frontier Gun Club Hanover range. Light to medium wind blowing directly downrange.

If you decide you want to CCW that beast I think I have a wheel barrow style holster with shoulder strap support.[emoji6]

Post for the old thread....I like the "twitterpated" description. :D
Post for the new........I only hope I can "SEE" the target at 1000 yards.

I had a DE50. It was always an attention getter on the range. You start shooting it and everyone else stops to see what you are shooting.

Missed the first go 'round.

Oh my stars and garters.

That is a classic quote! [LOL][zombie1][Awesom]
