I'm not the stalker, but considering my success with woman and relationships it does seem like something I'd do. My name is the same on most forums.

That goes for any forum. A few forums have the usual shit one post about their daily lives. Seeing how arfcom is world wide membership vs. this site, you have a higher ratio of insecure members.

Not even. The sentence structure and grammar gives them an alibi.
Ridge would have taken offense at the overall tone and quit.
Ronin .... he would have spent a day or 2 putting a response together, checked for errors than posted. Unfortunately, like one of his last replies here. it' be 3-4 paragraphs strewn together in an unreadable mess. or translated to web speak TL ; DR

Some flags are raised wondering why the OP brought this stalker discussion here. Unless he wanted more attention.

In some regards, many of us here are assholes. I happen to like our assholes here at coar15 because our assholes don't rub the snobbery in your face...unless it comes to booze or bacon. You true value eatin' fireball drinkin' hippies can all go fly a kite!

Never signed up on ARFCOM. Hadn't been there for over a year, til the link in this thread. Not really wantin' to go back. Kinda like the GlockTalk of the AR-15 world.

My preference is over there provided I know which lane I'm in (General discussion vs a technical knowledge discussion area). Perhaps I would ham it up here and participate more if it was more of a "social gathering of sorts" and I actually knew a few of you outside of the keyboard.

That is a fundamental flaw of the other site with newer members they don't know the hammer of idiocy that will encapsulate them in the General discussion areas where stupidity is par for the course.

To thrash a member with less than 10 post for asking a question with a "use the search feature" or "neveah been done befoh" does get old and sadly occurs on many forums. Also the wild speculation on whether they are a banned retread trying to sneak back on with every new poster.

When the new guy / gal ask Why can't i access the trading post? in their 3-4th post it gets old, real old. This site as others have FAQ's even READ / Acknowledge before posting.
Arfcom has FAQ's / stickies at the top of almost every sub forum. New member (5/14) ask. What's the best progressive to buy? Really.......
Do errors happen, sure. Does the same repetitive shit follow, of course.

I use a similar but not identical name on arf. I don't even remember how I ended up with just a first name here, I think I was screwing around when I registered and I never bothered to change it. I'm scared if I tell you what my arf nick is you'll make fun of me for all the sex questions I asked in the technical forums though.

Joking aside, it's amazing how big arfcom is at this point. Heck there are SCUBA and "pets" sections. You can find an answer to nearly everything... whether or not you should trust it is another problem though.

It is not those that I find fault with, it is the backlash directed at genuine novices related to technical or safety matters that is annoying. Direct the new guy to the pertinent information and give him the "keys to the castle" in a way by at least showing him where he can find what he is looking for. The "use the search feature homie" post in those situations just pushes people away. And especially in ARFCOM's case where the search feature is neutered for non paying members to a degree.

to be fair being a "member" over there as here. arfcoms weakest link is the search feature. you can type in 2 stage trigger and get NO RELATED ITEMS FOUND ????? WTF 2 stage triggers, no one discusses triggers[facepalm] They started out small and became this mega site to accommodate questions that were asked more than 1/2 doz times. Hence the sub forums. I remember when it, like other sites was a UBB, 98ish.
OT drift.
Then Y2K and the great Assault weapons Ban in CA loomed upon the country. Y2K, there was a great opportunity for those who had ;)
People complain about prices (see any gouging related thread) Back then, it wasn't how much you were asking, it was how much people were wanting to pay. $3K AR's, easy.

I go by a different name on this forum than any other forum I'm a member on- being that this one is local, I used a different name when I signed up, partially due to paranoia.

I'm beyond paranoia now, and have considered asking the Mods to change my name to Lunyfringe, which is what I go by on other forums.
(but not every Lunyfringe is me- sometimes when I request that name it's already in use)
I have an account on Arfcom, but I have 0 posts, 0 feedback, and rarely even browse over there unless it turns up in a generic Google search for some reason.

This is one of the only shooting community forum which I use different ID. Rest are all same. I am sure you guys who goes to most of other forum knows my other id by looking at EE/Trading post items.
