View Full Version : Yet another unintended consequence of legalization (or illegal for that matter)
Growers are using all the water and jeopardizing aquatic life.

Time to start charging more for Colorado's water. California can cover the increase with their pot revenues.
Some people drink. Some people smoke. Use all your water for pot and your choice is made for you.

Very true. Negative sum crop, uses too much water, and increases food prices.

Trust me, dog poo does not blow away no matter how dry it gets. I wish it would.
Funny thing.. there was just a propaganda piece in state run russian paper on this same thing.. Bet I know where they got the story..
The article I read a couple of weeks ago was blaming the ag focus on nut trees, especially almonds, for the increase in water use. This includes the increased market in Asia. I'll see if I can find it.
I guess when you have a 'no-water' hammer, everything looks like a nail.

My water is used for POT only when I stand up and push the flush lever on the pot.[LOL]

We'd have plenty of water to work with if we just used a Fremen deathstill on California -- heck, LA alone would give us plenty of water for agriculture, water sports on our reservoirs, etc. [Coffee]
EDIT: Only problem is that I don't want anything to do with a water bond with anyone in California.

At 1.1 gallons of water per almond produced, I'd say they are a huge problem for CA's water supply as well.

Pot revenues should be spent on unicorn feed and rainbow generators only, dammit. [Rant1]
Yum. Imagine the unicorn steaks we could get out of this arrangement.
