And so it begins...
Just heard that the Forest Service has shut down My Herman rd area to shooting. Trying to get more details but it was on the noon news. Not sure if it's county wide or not?

Great... great... The gov't should be required to open another area of equal size each and every time it shuts one down.

To bad; one of the easiest spots to get to. For me anyway.....

Never happen, we're gun owners, not OWS.

I could see this coming. I'm sure there were plenty of responsible shooters but there were some that weren't. I saw more than one area where it was obvious they were shooting directly over Mt Herman Road...
This was always a great spot to go shoot!
I thought it was already all closed.
One of our favorite spots, the "park" as we used to call it, north on Beaver Creek Rd, has been closed off for years due to the dickheads that continually trashed it and pulled out the barriers put in to prevent erosion of the hills due to those who did not tread lightly. Last time we were up there was 2002 for a send off camping trip with all the boys before one of the young lads, Bryan, did his first Iraq tour. My youngest son, now coming up on 30, the youngest of the lot, was taking this picture.
As was usual, we packed out two pickup bed loads of trash. We tried to go there the following year as I recall and it was closed. Haven't bothered to check for at least 4 or 5 years now if it ever re-opened.

It's been open for the past several years I have been in the area. I go up there every couple of weeks ...or used to any way. It was the closest place I could set up my steel to shoot.
Anyway, I think this is only the beginning. I am hearing reports of people being questioned or harassed by forest Service all up and down the front range. Wouldn't be surprised if we see more closures.
...and so it continues.
I did a lot of shooting there 25 years ago; it was nice back then. Mt. Herman was ruined to me in the 90s because the road to my favorite camp site was closed by Clinton's roadless BS...Bastard.

Blah blah blah, more government intrusion & we will still do nothing about it except fight amongst ourselves. Libertarians will still vote against the GOP thereby giving democraps wins with 47.5% & after this election they will be emboldened due to no repercussion from there gun grabbing, tax increasing, vote integrity destroying ways & then.............well, we will get some real gun laws here in Colorado that will make us wish we lived in NY or CA.
Or maybe I'm just cynical & jaded from watching this country go down the drain.
Please tell me how the voting here in CO affects the actions of the federal forest service?

You can vote in federal representatives (Congress and Senate) that can influence the Forest Service.

Continue enabling Democrats to stay in office and we will continue to have more harassment from the anti-gun folks in DC through the auspices of the Forest Service, BLM, etc. BHO and his minions are shielded somewhat by virtue of the fact Harry Reid managed to retain a majority in the Senate which lets him deflect corrective legislation and budgets. He says "so sue me" in part because he's been been told and shown that his fecal matter doesn't stink .
BS, CO could have gone completely the other way and nothing in DC would have changed.
This is about folks shooting without backstops and dumping trash all over not a directive from DC. Just read some of the other comments here on the numerous closure/harassment/cleanup threads and you can tell that.
