View Full Version : Golfers near the Westminster Area?
I just played a really fun game of golf at my Cousin's wedding out of town over the 4th weekend. I forgot how much I like to golf.
Any members in the North Metro area that like to golf? Maybe we could get a semi-regular game going. I am a community member of several courses up here, and can get some pretty decent rates for twilight and restricted day tee times.
I am usually home before 5:00pm, so some evening games are definitely in the cards for me.
So... let me know... I really want to start playing more.
UPDATE: Proposed first golf meet-up posted to this thread. See below.
I would be interested. I haven't played in a couple years but wouldn't mind playing once or twice a month.

I'm always down for a round. My work travel schedule isn't the best but if I am around I am in.
I'd be up for some golf. I've lived a few minutes from Westwoods GC for almost 5 years and I've probably only played there 10 times. I'd like to get out more.
Of course you couldn't have started this idea when I lived 10 minutes away from you!
Any days and or other guidelines that work / don't work for people? Would be cool to get a weekly or every other week schedule going.
We could just figure out who can and cannot make it a week prior to make the tee time.
Looking like maybe Tuesday or Wednesday late afternoons so far, but still very much in the air until more chime in. Chime in if you have preferred times, or you want to be notified of times we are headed out to the links.

I may be in if you guys dont mind playing with a horrible golfer lol
I'm a bad golfer too. But you can't get better until you play more.
What days/times work well for you?

My schedule is flexible these days, so i can usually make something work whenever
I could play Mon and Tues in the afternoon or Weds through Fri in the morning - I'm 5-10 minutes from Eagle Trace, Hyland Hills, or Legacy Ridge.
Ok... Just going to throw this out there for a first date, and using a time that should work for most. We *probably* won't get through 18 before dark, but the twilight rate is less than half a morning rate, so if we can get through 12-15 holes we are out on top. I found the best twilight rate in the area for our first outing, so it will be cheap and later on in the day. Hopefully most interested people can make it and we can discuss all the times that might work for everyone on the course.
So I propose:
Tuesday, July 15th, 5:04PM tee time at the Broadlands Golf Course. It is off of 144th, just east of Sheridan.
Cost per player is $32 including tax and cart for 18 holes.
Let me know who can/will make it and I can get some tee times. If we have more than 4, the second group can tee off at 5:36PM for the same price, OR if people prefer, we can tee off at 4:36PM for an extra $11 each, or $43 each total. Before 5:00pm doesn't qualify for twilight.
P.S. Let me know if you are in ASAP, so I can make the tee times.

I'll be out of town this tuesday, but count me in for the next go around. Thats a great price
P.S. If anyone wants to start a golfing meet-up down south, let me know. I'll help get it set up too.

Count me in for that Tuesday tee time. Golf is the game with the shoulder thing that goes up, right?

I actually wouldn't be surprised if we can knock out all 18 holes before sundown. Twilight golf can move pretty quickly (all depends...) and there's functional light up until about 9:15pm or so.
Bueller? Have 2 in so far. Who else can make it Tuesday night?
We have 4 members in for Tuesday at 5:04, the tee time is reserved. If anyone else wants to join, let me know and I can try to get an additional tee time for a second group.

Hey J, I would be in for this Tuesday. Sorry, I was camping over the weekend and didn't see this until this morning.
Anyone else want to play? We need one more person to start another group.
I'll try to get details for next week up ASAP.

I'm out of town this week but hopefully can catch you guys next time.
Ok. Next golf outing is a morning outing. Unfortunately, the times were kind of sparse, so we will be starting early.
Wednesday July 23rd, 6:30 AM Highland Hills Gold Course.
The price is $25 per golfer, including cart. Unfortunately for this rate, we have to have an EVEN number of golfers, as the rate is actually a deal for $50 per 2 golfers.
Highland hills is located on Sheridan, just north east of Sheridan and 92nd ave intersection.
I have 1 four-some reserved. If we have more than 4, I can try to get us an additional time. 6:30 was the latest we could get a four-some, unless we wanted to start at 11:20. But there are multiple openings for 2 players near our time, or we can get another four-some just before this one.
So, let me know if you are in, and I'll mark you down. If we end up with an odd number of players, the last player to sign up can either back out, find someone to join us, or pay full rate since they won't be able to get the discount.

I'm in.
I like this idea and only live a couple blocks south of the Broadlands... i've played 5 times, but it came fairly naturally, so who knows where I am on the "good/bad" scale. I'll keep an eye on this thread and chime in when I can make it.
We need one more to fill the tee time.
Who else wants to join?
Tee time is filled. If 2 or more people want to hop in I can grab another tee time.
Thanks to all involved for another great day. I had a blast.
Going to start looking into next weeks time too. Stay tuned for more details.
Alright golfers! Next two tee times are made!
First:
I have a 4-some reserved for this Friday, July 25th at 5:00 pm at Thorn Creek Golf Course. I can back this out to a 2-some if needed so reserve your spot ASAP.
Thron creek is just south of 136th Ave on Washington Street.
The cost for this is per PAIR of golfers. It is $30 per golfer including cart, but includes a $10 voucher for each golfer to the beverage cart or club house bar. So really $20 plus the beers you would buy anyways.
So, let me know if you are in, and I'll mark you down. If we end up with an odd number of players, the last player to sign up can either back out, find someone to join us, or pay full rate since they won't be able to get the discount.
Next:
Monday, July 28th, 5:06pm, at Colorado National Golf Club.
This is off of Colorado Highway 7 just west of Sheridan, in Erie Colorado.
Total cost per golfer is $35.00 including cart.
Let me know who is in, we have a 4-some reserved.
Combined both times into one post above.
I cant do the Friday but I am definitely in for Colorado National on Monday, really like that course and the price is right.

If you set any tee times up for something closer to the southern side of denver let me know. Ill be in.
Friday tee time is filled. Still have 1 spot open Monday.
Still one spot for this evening. Let me know if you want to join.
Arg.. if it was just a half hour later tonight, I could make it! CO National is just a few minutes north of my house.
Had been too long since I have played. Had to get out.
Last minute tee time:
Tomorrow, Friday the 22nd at 7:07AM @ eagle trace golf course. On Main street north of 120th in Broomfield. Its a friday AM tee time, so it isn't cheap. $49.00 for 18 holes and cart.
I have a single @ 7:07. If anyone else wants to come, shoot me a text and I'll call them to add you to the list. Sooner is better, as they could pair a 3-some with me and fill up the slot.
$49.00 isn't bad for a cart and 18 holes
