Tying it all together?

I’m bring this question here because you guys have yet to steer me wrong, so in advance thanks for all the help. I have just started trying to upgrade my rifle battery. I’m trying to stretch a budget to the max and I have over researched the internet, leaving me overloaded/confused as to if I’m making good choices. I have kind of a two part question.
1. I have a Remington 700 sps .308 that I dropped into a KRG X-Ray chassis. I have secured a Bushnell Elite Tactical ERS 6-24X50 BTR-MIL optic, which well be replacing a Leupold Mark 4 3-10X42. I have been looking at maybe using a spuhr mount; I like the ease of adding rails, built in level and sturdiness, but is it worth the cost? Anyone have experience with these mounts or can offer something similar. Below is my current set-up, I use it for everything from hunting to maybe trying my hand at a rifle match.

2. I have an AR-15 with a White Oaks Armament Varmint upper 20” barrel in .223. I have been looking at using the Aadmount to attach a Bushnell Elite Tactical ERS 6-24X50 BTR-MIL optic (I got such a good deal I bought two). I was wondering if the 20 MOA built into that mount would make getting a 100 yard zero impossible. Does anyone have experience with these, I like the built in level and the rail, but can’t help but wonder if there is something with more bang for my dollar?
I know I’m probably over thinking this, but I only want to cry/buy once not need to replace something that doesn’t work.[panic]

SPUHR mounts are fantastic if you have the coin. they aren't generally speaking the first place to spend money though. If you don't have a trigger for example, thats where the money might be useful.

I use exclusively BOBRO mounts on my AR's.

I have a 0 MOA Spuhr... I don't think you'll regret the buy. Loctite is your friend... yep, I use the red one [Coffee]

You might wanna keep in mind though... if you plan on upgrading to a scope with a 34mm tube... you'll be banging or scratching your head, but I do believe these mounts hold its value if you do need to turn around and sell it.

I think your set up is fine without a Spuhr.

Spend the rest of that cheese on a trigger, get your boom stick trued, change out the bolt handle..... or get an Atlas bipod [Coffee]

Spuhr is a great mount, I love mine. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another, but Any quality set of rings will get the job done. (NF, USO, Badger, even the Burris XTR rings are pretty good)

You'll have no problem getting a zero @100 with a 20 MOA mount on an AR, I run a 20 MOA Larue and have no problems getting a good zero.

There's little reason to put a 20 MOA rail on a .223. Most scopes have enough elevation to get you far past the effective range of the cartridge. Chances are your scope will get you to a grand or more, and at those ranges the bullet has so little energy it's very difficult to spot splash in the dirt or even detect hits on steel.

^^^He makes a good point, The one I have is on a wildcat cartridge AR, and it's overkill on that quite honestly.

Badger rings are around $160.00. A Spuhr mount is $410. Assuming you already have a good base on your rifle, you'd be better off spending that $250 on ammo and going out and shooting it.

I've never used a Spuhr mount, but I've never heard anything bad about them. I'm certainly not trying to take anything away from them. But IMO, you'd be better off taking that money and shooting the thing and getting more proficient with it.

I know I have been over thinking this but just trying to build the best set-up that I can. I already have an upgraded trigger installed. The thing that has me looking at the Spuhr mount is the ability to add rails, so it would be easy for me to hook my light on for the yearly trip to Texas for pig hunting. Thanks for giving me some thought on this matter.
