Do people on Gunbroker not really seem interested in selling their (stupidly overpriced) sh....stuff?

Nothing is selling, pricing that's their issue. There are some proud owners of Century AK's with $1500 price tags. The purchaser should be proud showing it off at the range and other gun related meet n greets.

Ak's seem to be the most over priced right now. I keep seeing ads ak with up grades for 1000$+. Its a pretty sad situation right now.

It always takes longer for prices to come down than it does for them to go up. [emoji35]

There's a lot of meatballs that bought the shit out of guns they didn't need or want when all the panic was going, now they need money and they're trying to get the panic prices they idiotically paid, back out of it. If you're looking for something and aren't in a huge hurry, bank your cash until right around thanksgiving when these idiots need to firesale them to get money to buy junk Christmas presents.
A lot of stuff has come back to normal pricing again, or close to it. AR lowers are averaging less than $100 (forged nothing special lowers that is) PSA even has blems for like $59.99 again.
There's some decent deals to be had on GB, but you have to wade through thousands of postings by people that don't really want to move their product to find them. You're not going to get any super good deals there though, there's too many people watching it for that about the best you can hope for is to find something you're looking for that your LGS can't get right now, for a reasonable/retail price.

This. So much. I love shopping CL and internet forums around that time, deals for days.

gunauction.com for buying guns at decent prices gunbroker.com for selling guns to get the most $$
Found a pistol that was getting more difficult to find (Walther PPQ M1) on GB. The price was actually fair. Seller was a local gun store and I just bought it at the store.
I'm pretty sure that there are examples where folks are in denial that the prices on ARs & AKs have come back to earth.

Don't have to wait that long.... I just learned that one of my neighbor raided his kids college fund to buy firearms last year.... Now he has one starting CU in August and is trying to offload everything he has....

GB is like any other place...you have to know WHAT you are buying, and WHAT is a fair price.
Look at some of the grocery ad sale items, and other similar items right next to them on the shelf.
People will by the "big" ketchup because it is on sale (must be cheaper, right? afterall, it;s "on sale") , rather than 2 smaller bottles (at a smaller per ounce cost).
There are always the newbies that visit GB and see a certain item, overpriced by everyone, and think that is the going rate.
...so they buy it.
Sellers are happy to get a few sales hits of overpriced items every once in a while.
Sometimes the same seller also has an ad for the same item at a reasonable (but not great) price.
1st one that gets a "hit", gets sold...the other is canceled.

You're not going to get any super good deals there though...
Especially after adding credit card fees of up to 3.5%, shipping costs, receiving/transfer costs charged by your FFL + $10 CBI background check. Might as well add $100 to the "deal" you found. I guess if you're buying a Volkmann 1911 those costs are negligible but for your run-of-the-mill used Glock that's 20% of the price!

Like I've heard a lot of people winning in Blackhawk. You spent how much to "win"? You've been to Blackhawk 15 times in the past year and this is the first time you've mentioned winning to me? Ya whatever.

I have done a fair amount of buying on both GB and Gun Auction, and I would have to say that overall, I have done pretty well.
There were a couple times I knowingly paid a premium, due to availability and want, and also a couple that I paid too much for due to errors on my part.
You definitely need to do your research beforehand, along with being cognizant of added fees and charges. Having a good strategy, along with not getting caught up in "auction fever" are also key.
Recognizing frequent bidders, who just like to push the price up, is important.
I still browse both sites intermittently, but there seem to be a lot more buyers on them now, and a bunch of them are still willing to pay a PREMIUM price for certain items.

Thanks fellas. I'm not new to guns, just Gunbroker, so I know when people be crazy. What yanks me are the "reserve" and "minimum bid" auctions that have no bids on them. Yo, you are to high. Although, in the interest of full disclosure, I am trying to buy stuff made by H&K (19 mm EFL flare gun stuff).

"Upgrades."
"Upgrades" in this context meaning "A Cheaper-Than-Dirt Catalog threw up all over them."
I prefer to use the term "Tapco'd Out." :D
