View Full Version : I kid you not, Rolling Stone went full retard with this gun article
It is by far the most scathing and profound piece of journalism in our nation's history! The Rolling Stone has published an article (with pictures for their primary demographic of idiots and mentally defunct) citing the 5 most dangerous guns. The list is quite a leap in research and journalistic integrity:
1. Pistols
2. Revolvers (Also handguns)
3. Rifles
4. Shotguns
5. Derringers
Wow! Gotta give it to them, that must have taken about 10 min to research all that!
Here's the article if anyone is really that interested:
http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/pictures/the-5-most-dangerous-guns-in-america-20140714
But better yet, here is the backlash, and some of it is quite hilarious:

Just goes to show that Rolling Stone is the epitome of intelligible and unrivaled stupidity. Explains quite a bit about their readers, actually. [facepalm]

Google the author, it will tell ya all ya need to know.
I didn't see a single comment in support of the article. This surprises me, pleasantly.
Wow, someone needs to be banned from writing anything or opening their mouth...ever again.

Ms. Gwynne, what you've just wrote is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent article were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone online is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Additionally, the explosive that creates the energy to fire the gun occurs in the fixed shell of a shotgun rather than the metallic cartridge of a rifle.
can someone explain this to me?

Am I missing something, or was the article showing that "evil black rifles" aren't as evil as usually portrayed?
The last two paragraphs seemed to imply that rifles and high capacity magazines account for very few murders.

I don't care who called that journalist a dumbshit, I want to know who called that dumbshit a journalist.
Writer should be embarrassed and humiliated for a piece that is so poorly written that I almost felt embarrassed reading it.
A lack of any knowledge so obvious that other anti gunners called her on it.
Pissed that I wasted time on it.
Really pissed that I felt the need to comment on it. [facepalm] [gohome]

Somebody probably beat me to it (I haven't read all the comments), but word on the street is that for her tireless, hard-hitting journalistic research on this article, Kristen Gwynne has been nominated for a "Certificate of Participation"!

Not my friends... my friends are too busy posting "Is it hunting season yet?" posts on Facebook. [Coffee] One won't stop posting pics from Colorado Shooting Sports (where he works) up in Greeley- it's awful! [Sarcasm2]
Just did a little digging (really only took about 30 seconds) and found that the author of this piece needs to go back to writing about what she seems most passionate about, Pot. Seriously, she has 11 articles on RS and most of them (er, all but 2) are about pot. Maybe this dumb broad has been smoking too much?

"With more than 119,000 pistols found at crime scenes in 2012, this handgun model holds an unfortunately solid first place in criminal weaponry."
mixed with
"Glocks comprise 65 percent of the market share of handguns for United States law enforcement agencies..."
Their words, not mine... and I reserve the right to interpret what they say as I wish.
"According to FBI latest publicly available homicide records, in 2012 rifles were used to murder more than 320 people."
and
"Per the FBI, shotguns were used in 303 murders in 2012."
According to the same report, hands/fists/feet were used in 678 murders, and 'pushing' is included.
You forgot derringers.
[LOL]
Well, I think they covered about every type of gun minus the bolt action.
Don't worry, she's got it covered, #3 is 'Rifles'. Could be bolt action, could be semi-auto.
Under that category, she included this intriguing piece of investigative journalism: " — designed to be fired from the shoulder — ". OMG! Rifles are designed to be fired from the shoulder?! I had no idea!! [bulls] [Shake] (I'd bet even Joe Biden knows rifles are designed to be "fired from the shoulder.")

Some Google-fu led me to her Twitter. A couple of gems:
"Predators are straight up surrounded by loyal dudes who separate their friendship from the gendered violence they commit. JUST SAYIN"
"What horrible shit must dudes do to women before their male friends cut them off?"
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
According to 2012 FBI and ATF statistics, God killed more people then all five dangerous guns combined.

Historically, Rolling Stone has been something like 0.3% Hunter Thompson, 0.2% P.J. O'Rourke, and 99.5% stupid crap.
The Doctor's death has not improved these numbers.

Thompson's last article for RS was in 1983 (his first one in 5 years)... for reference, he died in 2005. I think there's a reason Dr. Thompson stopped writing for them, and their downfall can be linked to shitty writing since the 1990's (possibly even before). Albeit, now-a-days, you have to be partly brain dead to even subscribe to them.
