My 2014 4runner with 4700 miles on it wont close its sunroof. I went to close it and it made a whining noise and then a snap like something broke and opened all the way and thats where it stays now. I took it in for warranty work and they said they would look at it. I havent heard anything yet but I looked up the price of the rail system and its $1200. I really dont want to pay that + labor if they wont cover it. Anyone had experience with their warranty services?

All my experience with their warranty service has been excellent. If they didn't cover your repair I'd be shocked and pissed!

Good to know. Just heard from them and they have to replace the entire sunroof and all components. Apparently the cables got bound up on something and the motor snapped a few attachments when it tried to close it.

Which dealer did you go to?

I've heard them tell customers that they should have bought a Chevy.

Its still covered under the bumper to bumper warranty, you have nothing to worry about. Even if its out of warranty, MOST manufacturers will give a good faith repair.

Thank god. I looked up all the parts and without labor costs it would be close to $4000.

The paint on my truck developed a bubble a few days after I took it home. I brought it into Stevenson Toyota West and they immediately fixed it no questions asked. I didn't even give them a hard time. Just brought it into the service department, showed them the bubble and they whisked it away to be fixed. They were VERY apologetic. Awesome service.

A new vehicle warranty from Toyota covers that repair 100%. No worries, they will fix it.

I've owned many new vehicles and even worked for new vehicle dealerships and Toyota by far has been the best experience for any warranty work I've had out of all of them to include doing work for free out of warranty. This is but a small piece of the pie of why they retain their resale value so well and so many people love their Toyota's.

They replaced the entire sunroof assembly and did my maintenance for free. They did a great job, however they did not put the roof liner in properly towards the back. No biggy. Ill just have them fix it at a later date or do it myself. Overall good experience. Thanks for the help everyone.

The only good thing I could say about owning a pos 2010 4runner was that it was so bad that even with an expired warranty Toyota still agreed to fix some issue for free. And they finally bought it back from me giving me over the trade value for it.
