Fake posers. Posing with fake
-occupation
-Brand name items (purse, watch, clothes, etc)
-Upbranding their car (putting V6 on a 4cyl Camry/Accord, putting CLS550 on CLS350, etc).

Those people needs serious mental help.
Another funny ones are MBA business card. It should be a Student Card, not a business card.

I have an MBA, and I feel that anyone that puts that on a business card fails to realize that it's a stepping stone, not a throne.

He EARNED that rank......playing some serious Call Of Duty.

My son is nine and he is probably a General! So it is possible.

Since they wore the actual awards below their rack... [facepalm]
I would have had fun picking him apart. "Oh I noticed you were also a DS and a recruiter... which are the only things on that uniform in the correct place... [LOL]

Agreed. Too many of these videos are post by guys with even less moral fiber than those they are confronting & give a bad name to that they are supposedly protecting.

Just once I wanna see one of these guys impersonating a 92 Field.

"yeah bro, I was 92S, you wouldn't believe the complaints I heard about velcro pockets."

[Jeep]
And why is every SF/ Seal/ Sniper/ Recon A-hole I've ever met in a bar or gunstore a fracking 18B. I guess cause its the coolest sounding in the 18's.

Yeah, I really don't understand why people would want to pretend to be soldiers... And when they do, they don't even do their homework. [facepalm]
These are the worst kind of posers... Looking for pats on the back and attention for things they didn't even come close to doing.

Does that go for down branding to make a sleeper, too? Like putting a WRX STi drivetrain in a stock Impreza body?

More stickers make the car go fast don'tcha know?

One thing that bugs me [soap] is all the stick figures, "Rebellion becomes Duty", rainbows, fluffy pink horse heads, don't tread on me flags, "i'm a member of this online community" stickers on peoples cars. Filled up the rear view mirror and smoking a cigarette, putting on makeup, and texting on the cell phone, while their poodle is in their lap, all while trying to change lanes. Or wait they were not changing lanes, just trying to stay in the one they were at.

It is like people are constantly trying to advertise what they are doing in life and hoping someone will come up to them and recognize them for it. Like Participation Trophies.

Dafuq does this have to do with this thread?

[ROFL1] That was my thought too...

Among the vets I went to AFG with, none of us even so much as advertise that we were in... One has a beard (not that wannabe SF beard), and one is pretty clean cut. I shave my head, but did so long before I was in. Looking at us, you probably couldn't tell we were in. Real service members don't need to wear that shit on their sleeve, we don't have to prove a damn thing to anyone. JMHO.

People have to have accouterments to affix to them or their stuff showing everybody that they did this or that or been there or done that. There is a constant human need it seems to adorn ourselves with badges and status symbols. When you have not done any of those things, you have to fake it.

Pretty simple I think.

Take some person who hasn't done anything in their life, they still have that need. So what do they do? Buy a uniform from Goodwill and wear it around to make themselves feel better. Not any different than putting fake shit on cars or posting what they are doing on social media or putting a "I donate to this cause" on their cars or whatnot. It is just people being people striving for attention.

YUP :-D Ahhhhhh..... now I got my attention for the day.

I actually put it up there because I saw it yesterday on a car. In actually researching it really cannot even be actually attributed to him saying it or writing it at all. I was hoping someone would notice it. Much like a bunch of other Ben Franklin quotes about beer and other quotes by famous people that actually they never really said. but anyways that was off topic.

I change it back to what it was.

I think the objective of most people's car stickers is to raise awareness. You have a captive audience so why not try to get someone to think about something they might not otherwise think about? By your own admission, it works.

None of that really has anything to do with this topic however.

I think it does. It is the reason why these douches keep surfacing is to get this attention so I think I am on topic. And I sincerely appreciate the efforts of trying to point out my logic. I am in a dark place. :-)

I can actually understand why they want to pretend. I did that for awhile ... then I turned 6 ... or was it 5?

Who knows what kind of mental disabilities the guy has? Maybe he grew up admiring a soldier-father but could never get past a recruiter? Having said that, watching that video was painful ... frankly, I couldn't make it past about 45 seconds. It annoys me to no end to see scammers trading on reputations established by men who lived and died for their country and saddens me to see other people living delusionally in some kind of fantasy land; I don't know which category this schmuck falls into.

I'm sure we've all met guys actually in service who love to put everything little thing on their uniform, their wall, etc. It's not my style -- I liked the couple years when Fogleman instituted "All, Some or None" and I could choose to wear just the three ribbons I was most proud of (not even the three "highest") or non at all -- but I don't begrudge others for wanting to show a little flash.

At least the guy wasn't running around with his pants around his ankles, 30 pounds of gold jewelry, and an idiotic ex... oh wait ... well, 2 out 3 isn't bad ...

I was actually debating between the pic below or Admiral-General Aladeen to post em on this thread. Decide to go with Aladeen.
I do have that pics on my misc pics file.
