Excellent Read: "Ten reasons I am no longer a leftist"

It may be somewhat long (too long to quote and place here, so I'll leave the link), but it is so worth it! I will say, upon comparison, I can readily identify her stance as being "I just didn't know" and know so many liberals in my life that are the EXACT same way... they just don't know what our side is saying, in actuality. Sure, they listen to the MSNBC and CNN talking heads, but they cannot actually state one thing that the conservative movement is actually saying. They can't identify anything outside of "war on women" that the anti-abortion movement is trying to get across. And the left certainly can't look past their own hate filled rhetoric to actually listen to an opposing opinion. Her first reason explanation says it perfectly: "I wanted to understand the point of view of people with whom I disagreed without immediately demonizing them as enemy oppressors."

the part about hate talk is so true. Just listen to them on gun control. Gun owners just want to be left alone and live in peace. They want all gun owners dead in the most gruesome way possible. The group who talks about peace and loving everyone is the most hate filled group out there.

That really was a good read, thanks. I hope she's prepared for the Leftist hate that will go her way. Having said that, I've seen some pretty vicious things said on this board too (hell, I probably contributed some of it) so we should think about that before we click on "Post".
