So trying to plan a semi impromptu mini vacation before school starts. Looking to take the kids on a first semi camping trip. Not looking to rough it or anything like that, but something like a cabin/lodge would be great, and of course swimming. Kids are 7 and 9 girls. Haven't called but online the RMNP YMCA is all booked up for the week I am looking for. Any suggestions? Not opposed to driving a little maybe 3-4 hours if need be.
Thanks,
Art

Beaver Meadows has been fun. My family has been making trips to there for years.

No swimming but you can try the cabins at North Michigan Reservoir.

There are nice yurts up near Walden. In the Colorado State Forest State Park. They have everything you need except food and water....

I was there last week end and this is my favorite campground (when I don't want it too rough) within 2 h of denver. http://buenavistakoa.com
They have cabins for rent, really nice and safe for kids to run around and Mount Princeton Hot springs are close by for swimming pool fun.
We always go to Rockmount Cottages in Estes Park, very nice and clean, with all the amenities of EP nearby. It's on the same road as that YMCA I believe.

Well then that's perfect...We have only been in CO for 2 years. So still feel like a tourist...

Now that place looks absolutely amazing, but thinking I would want to try it out with the wife and no kids..
Vrbo.com has some good deals for very nice places.

What I like about the place is that all the water in the hotel rooms is warm. In the winter, even the toilets are warm! Plus in the winter at night...it is clothing optional. I have stayed there in the summer, once I slept in a teepee. Usually though it was a hotel room. If you get a room, the hot springs soak is included with the room.
