View Full Version : Now THIS is a flagpole!
Yowza! What a pole it is! I hope they never let Obama disgrace it with his presence. http://mortenson.wistia.com/medias/tejnwpitig#_media_7651795
Puts a whole new meaning to "run it up the flag pole!"
Nice! Curious as to how much that thing cost all in. Well worth it, but that can't be cheap!

Nicely done - and it seems it was done for the right reasons.
That must piss off the North Koreans. Now their Peace Village (Kijŏng-dong; aka Propaganda Village) flagpole is only the 3rd or 4th largest in the world. I believe for a while it had been the tallest.
After a few lake effect storms this coming winter, they'll need to build it taller.
I lived in Sheboygan for a time in my younger years. That's pretty cool.

Impressive effort, good on them for doing that.
Impressive a flagpole as it is, some thoughts come to mind.
1. Insurance companies have all the money. Huge buildings and now big flag poles.
2.. Could house a few illegals inside of that.
3. Shorty's on Sheboygan's south side has great ribs and gyros.
4. Designing it for -40 F is not low enough. That place got much colder my last winter there.

That's COOL !!
When their customers call and ask, "Why did my rate jump?!" they'll just say, "Murica!"
Really though, how many of you have even heard of that insurance company? Looks like they put a chunk of their advertising money into an awesome flag.

Now, if we put one flagpole up that size on top of Cheyenne Mountain, that will really shut them up. However, maintenance is the problem.

A quality 30'x60' flag costs around $3,000. I couldn't find anyone selling a 60'x120'.... But you can bet your butt it's not cheap!
Three poles and counting. I'd be concerned with the use of my money, if I was a policy holder.
How is the different from the 198' cross in Effingham, Illinois?
A full Garrison flag is 20'x38'. What is a 60'x120' flag called (besides ostentatious)?
Our 80' cell tower blew down last winter. The bolts failed.
