Mad Max meets Mad Maxine?
Don't go hatin raggedy man, don't go hatin.
Oy! Not hatin', just wonderin'.
I'm a Mad Max fan, particularly of the original un-dubbed flicks.
Nice hood ornament for a RatRod.

Do I see Voldemort in the background of that trailer still? [Coffee]
Interesting. It's supposed to take place after Thunderdome, but he has the Interceptor with the fuel tanks, which was destroyed towards the end of Road Warrior.

They made more than 1 MFP interceptor..
Looks like I'll have to watch the Mad Max movies before this comes out. Are they on Netflix?
Sorry for the hate...but can Hollyweird put out anything these days that isn't a remake, a next in whatever number in the series, something not based on a flippin comic book, or something without little kids/bad ass women to save the day? Guess I'm just olde school...
If you're old school, you should appreciate all these rehashes.
On a serious note, saw something the other day about original movies just not getting the viewership as rehashes. It's the current trend.

I heard a while back that Mel makes an appearance in the movie as a "drifter"
Ye olde school. Hollywood has been doing remakes forever. They often would take a foreign film or story and 'Muricanize it, even in the olden days.
There are certainly many remakes that we certainly haven't needed....and they were losers at the box office. Vote with your wallet.

I liked the Mad Max series except for Thunderbone.
"remakes" generally suck IMO. I can think of one that didn't..."The Thing"...Carpenter did a good job on that one.
Is this a trend?

I'll watch it but not expecting too much. A movie version of Five Finger Death Punch's House of the Rising Sun?
Mad Max unleashed a whole genre of B movies. Warriors of the Wasteland it the only one I can recall.
Edit: Battle Truck
The New Barbarians
Warriors of the Apocalypse
A Man Called Rage
I ate a lot of popcorn in those days.

You guys should read up a little.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Force_Patrol
The Black MFP cars were rare Pursuit Specials. The Interceptors were Yellow.
Looks like Fury Road is set in time after the first movie.
"In Mad Max 4: Fury Road (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mad_Max_4:_Fury_Road), which takes place soon after the original and before the second installment, it is questioning will MFP still exist, since it's unknown if it takes place right after Max leaves the force, or right before the start of the second installment. It is possible that it has disbanded soon after Max left with the loss of funds and officers."
EDIT: Just found this:
Mad Max 4: Fury Road The original Pursuit Special will appear in the upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mad_Max:_Fury_Road) film, set to be released in 2015. Since it was confirmed that the film takes place before Road Warrior, it will bear more resemblance to the Pursuit Special from the original film, rather than the one from Road Warrior, and it will be featured and used in almost all the stunts during the whole film, unlike its predecessors. There was also a rumor that the car would be stripped of paint or repainted silver, but this has been denied.
They made more than 1 MFP interceptor..
Yeah, but the mechanic in Road Warrior specifically says "Last of the V8s, a piece of history"
Also, I read yesterday that Lord Humungus was originally supposed to be Goose, Max's motorcycle cop partner from the first movie. It was changed, but some elements are still there to suggest it (like the burns on Humungus' head and his group's use of police vehicles and firearms)

That quote is from Mad Max (first movie) not Road Warrior (second movie).

Good trailer, looks like fun.
I'll have to watch Mad Max and The Road Warrior again, Thunderdome was boring.

I liked Mad Max best but unless you have seen Mad Max, I doubt that this will be a very good movie (I'll wait for the RedBox rental). Today's movies are way too big on the CG effects and too little on character and plot development. The fact that they have hired top stars for the roles tells me that too much money was spent on "Stars" and effects rather than on good story and script writing. Not trying to be a downer here but, remakes and sequels for the most part just don't measure up.
"I don't know man, I just got here myself."
But, I'll watch it.

Knight Rider! Knight Rider! Remember him when you look into the night sky!
Five Finger Death Punch sucks. And that song is a remake of The Animals, House of the Rising Sun. Originally based in New Orleans.
Just a shitty band, doing a shitty cover, of a great song
Rant off

NIGHT Rider. Not KNIGHT from the tv series.
You listen bronze. I am the Nightrider. I'm a fuel injected suicide machine. I am the rocker, I am the roller, I am the out-of-controller! I'm the Nightrider, baby,

Looks entertaining as hell!
Colin Farrell is more "Max" in my mind, but Hardy is a damn fine actor also.
For those of you who may doubt Hardy, check out "Lawless", and especially this one:

F$@k yeah Roberth!
I really enjoy Mad Max and The Road Warrior. :)
I need that car, for doing stuff and things like that.
Late to the party but this looks friggin' saweeet! Some movie critics in here say otherwise but I don't give a hobo's crap about critics anyway. Just because they spent some time on casting doesn't mean it's going to suck. Biggest load of rubbish I've heard today but the day is young yet. lol Same for saying that a movie w/CG has to suck. I like a movie with good action sequences and if CG is done right then it means better/more action sequences on the same budget. For a movie like Mad Max this is exactly what it needs to dial up the excitement. Do you honestly think that if the CG technology was then what it is now the originals wouldn't have had CG to make the action sequences seem more alive and less like a bunch of kids did it in a drama class in Jr High? I think this movie is going to be bad ass and love when Hollywood does a title I loved as a young whipper snapper... so long as it's done right.
In related news, my wife has a serious crush on the main character actor so I'm sure we'll check it out sooner than later.
