Why do the police act like this? Check out the "lieutenant! Isn't there a law in Colorado pertaining to assaulting the disabled? Personally, I think the cop should be arrested.

Meh, he said he had a gun then he had a knife, the cop was an asshole for not moving his foot, and it was a bit much to push the guy over, but I wouldn't want my foot run over.
"At risk adult" is the correct term... It's an enhancement to a crime, not a crime itself.

Cop bashing the excessive lock before I make no comment.
I'm fairly certain that if I knocked someone out of their wheelchair for running over my foot in the hallway where I work, I would not be working here ever again.
Just sayin.
I make bashing lock before the excessive cop no comment.

There is no such thing as cop bashing, it's worth what someone will pay for it.
Protect and Serve went the way of Mayberry.
Cop was wrong. He should be lucky all he got was a demotion. Just my opinion based on one viewing of the brief video. I have no idea what happened pre or post video.

Ehh. Looks like the kid in the wheel chair intentionally ran over his foot. Probably thought "what's he going to do? Knock me out of my chair?"
Knocking him out of the chair did seem a bit excessive though. Could have just issued him a citation for careless driving or something.

OK here's the deal, most quadraplegics have suffered a spinal cord injury. 90% of the time the injury to the spinal cord occurs from C1-C8, that is the neck area of the spinal cord. Quadraplegia means he has very little control of his arms and legs, he can barely move his arms and usually can't use his legs at all. He also usually can NOT look down! Why? Because he had a broken neck at some time. I used to hang out with a Vietnam vet who was a quadraplegic, so I sorta know what it is like.

The cop was out of line. How much longer you want to drag this out?

Sounded like the "Chiefs board" wanted to terminate him ... but the civilian review board gave the guy a demotion and 30 days no pay suspension .
I'm surprised as hell the Civilian review board gave him a "pass"

Yeah no kidding. I don't think I've ever seen it rain continuously for this long in Colorado Springs. Oh, right! Cops are all bad people! [facepalm]

Right! Not only that, but everyone on here agrees the cop was out of line. What type of shit are you trying to stir up OP?

Well...the state trooper that gunned it and rode some ladies ass to cut in front of me while I was pulling my camper sure wasn't all that nice today.

I don't care if they're in a wheelchair because they're disabled, or because they're lazy. They're operating a motorized vehicle. If they run over me, a pedestrian, they are presumptively at fault.

I don't disagree with you, but does that give anyone cause to assault the driver?

Only if the assaulted was on his motorcycle.[mop]
