View Full Version : TX must have some pretty extreme "Wildlife"

I understand the need for securing and patrolling the border but this just rubs me the wrong way.
Share a little jurisdiction and have the agencies dedicated to security and enforcement do it. Not every government agency needs this kind of firepower.

On a different note, better make sure your fishing license is valid in TX because these folks might show up to check it.

I'm generally against the militarization of police, but regardless of what their law enforcement duties are, they're more or less operating in a war zone while doing them.

MRAPs 200 miles from our borders are another matter.

going up against equally, if not better armed opposition and you're upset [facepalm] Not surprised.

This. The border patrol and other LE agencies on the border regularly come under fire from across the border. I personally have no problem with them having big guns...as long as they remain on the border. Like someone said above, 200 miles away from the border is a major problem.

EDIT: Major stupid spelling mistake fixed. Doh.

Completely agree.

Again, I have no problems with there being heavily armed personnel on the border keeping it secure.
I have an issue with them being a part of the PARKS AND WILDLIFE department.

You seem to be missing the point. Parks and wildlife have a job to do near the border, outside of securing it, yet they are in the same "war zone" as everyone else with business by the border.

They need full auto 50bmg machine gun every 1/2 mile. Anything that makes a move north from south if the border is immediately killed. The invasion needs to stop.

These victims are family members of mine and the bitterness still hasn't resided. Give LE all the weaponry and equipment they want... on the border.

Of course you do. You're not working there, either. If you worked for PARKS AND WILDLIFE on the Rio Grande/TX border you might have a different outlook on things.

Perhaps you should schedule a meet with the wyoming parks service, boys. Those folks are running M-14's. not M-1a's, M-14. Few of them were my clients. Interesting transition from .mil to state LE, employee

I'm of the opinion that if someone is shooting at me, I don't care if I'm the neighborhood milkman, I want as much firepower as I can to shoot back with. Air support wouldn't be out of the question.

I get the whole "militarization of the popo"...I really do. But on the border? No...I'm good with what they have in those photos.

Cartels and gangs don't care what agency it is.... All we are are tagets to them. Any LE agency on the border of Mexico should be armed to the teeth.

You think the cartelistas are going to look too closely at shoulder patches and think "Oh, he's just a possum cop" before they start shooting?

As Hildabeast said so eloquently "At this point in time, what does it matter?"

They are not doing dick about the border security anyway. We could have Abrams lined up tread to tread but without enforcement policy being enforced they are just minor obstacles on the way to Free Shit Amerika.

Another reason why the state is probably taking this matter very seriously. They have to since the feds won't.

When you call 911 it doesn't go to the border patrol it goes to a local agency. They still have an obligation to the safety of the state, it's border, and the people, even if the feds don't think so or won't do it.

Arizona doing similar things to protect it's people from illegals and cartels.

I have family with a house right on the edge of the lake/rio grande. I'm for whatever it takes to keep things on the proper side of the shore. Gangs, Cartel blah blah.
