Is everyone so sure it wasn't his fault? Did he know what was going on in his name? Not trying to bad mouth a dead man, but are we entirely sure Mrs. Giffords isn't in full agreement with what is being done in her name? What if Mr. Brady is the same? If he's able to speak/write and say "I think we should campaign for more gun control," that might change the story a bit...

I call BS on James Brady only being a tool. He was very 'vocal' about gun registration after the shooting. Granted his wife carted his ass around like a trophy, but still - he was complicit with it all.

The death of James Brady -- President Ronald Reagan's press secretary who was wounded in the attempt on Reagan's life in March 1981 -- was a homicide, the District of Columbia medical examiner ruled Friday.
The medical examiner said Brady died as a result of the grievous injuries he suffered 33 years ago, which means that gunman John Hinckley Jr. could be charged with Brady's murder.

The gunshot wound, apparently.

Not defending Hinckley (and think "insanity" as a defense is bogus anyway), but if you live 33 years past when you were shot, I think that's a bit long to say homicide.

He wasn't brain dead. He had slurred speech and was in a wheel chair, but appeared cognizant of his surroundings.

I agree. There are thousands of people whose lives have been shortened by injury due to all kinds of actions by others. There is a 3 year limitation for physical injury to file a lawsuit in CO (and most states are similar)...would guess something like that applies in some way, or some statute. Even his death is now going to be used as a political tool. I hope someone comes down hard on the ME.

Bloomberg's group can now list his name as a death by gun violence so they can further politicize what was a tragedy.
