So I just went online and bought my tags for this year. Here's the breakdown Moose-$400.00, Dall sheep-$425.00, Grizzly Bear-$500, and my Alaska hunting license-$85.00 for a grand total of $1410.00. Hunting sure isn't getting any cheaper. Good luck to everyone that's heading out this fall. I'm skipping my usual trip to the honey hole with my buddies this year and my dad and I are headed back to Alaska. 18 days until we fly out of Denver then 14 days of absolute peace and quite.

Wow I'm jealous. I would do anything to go on that trip.

Awesome!

What is the total price (flight, guide, lodging, etc) for a trip like that?

to put it simply, A LOT! The flight was $900 round trip to Fairbanks AK. Hotel for 2 days before and 2 days after the hunt $450, taxidermy (if I'm lucky enough to take all three) will be around $4500 plus the cost to air freight the antlers, horn, and hides home. Dad and I shipped 975 lbs. of meat home last time and that was around $1500. Plus the cost of the hunt itself, which is a nice chunk of change at $16,300 per person, that included flight into and out of camp from Fairbanks for us and all or gear and game, 16 days of hunting, food, and trophy care.

If you are looking at going, do it sooner rather than later. Most outfitters charge this much just for one species, and it isn't getting any cheaper.
