I don't think the federal gov't had anything to do with this. According to what I read this has been months in the making. This issue is basically that he threatened to veto something before it was even presented in an attempt to get someone out of office...someone who probably didn't deserve to be in office. But, being she's a democrat, she's part of the protected, elite class. I don't see anything coming of this except for maybe some embarrassment to Perry (who's out in Nov anyway) and to democrats that brought this whole thing about.

This whole situation confuses me. The state is backing a drunk driving public official? Weird. I wouldnt expect this from the great state of Texas.

Perry will get the brunt of the public embarrassment and it will prevent any chance he will run for resident again. The dems won't be embarrassed at all.
When I heard about this last night my initial thought was WTF, that's what ALL politicians do. How many vetoes has Bama threatened before bills hit the floor? And congress threatens to cut funding for programs all the time as a means to sway things in the direction they want.
Big waste of Texas taxpayer money and an attempt to ruin the Gov, IMO.

The statute specifically exempts official acts. Its an utterly frivolous and void on its face.
This is the kind of banana republic Democrats are pushing us into.

Looks like she is at it again.
"Rosemary Lehmberg, the district attorney in Travis County. Ms. Lehmberg is Austin’s top prosecutor and oversees a powerful public corruption unit that investigates state, local and federal officials; its work led to the 2005 indictment of a former Republican congressman, Tom DeLay, on charges of violating campaign finance laws."
She indited Tom Delay in 2005 for allegedly scheming to influence Texas state elections with corporate money. He was indited by the very Liberal Austin (Travis County) Grand jury and that forced him to step down as the Speaker of the House. As they say you can indite a ham sandwich.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2013/09/19/tom-delay-conviction-overturned-by-texas-court/
A Texas appellate court has overturned the conviction of former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Tex.) for allegedly scheming to influence Texas state elections with corporate money.
"DeLay's ironclad control of the House was legendary and earned him the nickname, "The Hammer," for the dictatorial style with which he commanded House Republicans -- and tormented President Bill Clinton (http://www.whorunsgov.com/Profiles/William_J._Clinton) and Democrats."
She used her position and the Liberal Austin Courts to railroad one good man, so why not try it again. Seems that if anybody has been abusing their power, it is her.

Those are great! Yeah, I think Perry will be just fine, and somehow I see her without a job in the very very near future.

99% of democrats give the other 1% a bad name. She's a perfect example. I think this little indictment stunt is going to work out in Perry's favor.
