View Full Version : $32 one way airfare deal
Mods, I know this should be in intel probably but it ends tonight and this area gets more traffic. Feel free to move.
Frontier is offering $32 one way tickets as part of the ice bucket challenge. $52 one way gets you to some better cities too.
The deal ends at midnight tonight.

Great deal for one way. However, you have to get back and looks like none of the cities you fly to have a cheap one way fare back to Denver. Maybe I missed something and I also did not look into any return flights, but not getting a good deal on the way back may be a beeotch.

???
I don't need to fly anywhere but I did Chicago and it was $52 there, $82 for a return flight during the week. Up to $102 for a weekend return.
Thanks. Saved me about $1000. 5 people florida $877 round trip.
^ cripes you couldn't send 2 people round trip on greyhound for that!
Yeah, the fuel to drive would cost me 500 bucks.

I just found out they kill you in bags!!! I said screw it! $50 for round trip carry on and $40 for round trip check in! Plus tax and flight you might as well buy a ticket with southwest in advance if you're flying with guns like I had planned...
Im im not saying they are bad prices and you can always buy tickets now and bags later... Just saying add $90 for the bags if you carry on and check
ZERO THEORY

$32 flight to Phoenix and a $62 flight back two weeks later. If I hadn't just switched companies, I would've jumped all over this.

Even with the bag fees, Frontier is almost always cheaper than Southworst. They take firearms as well. Compare prices.
Not to mention stuff like this:

But in all honesty, I am kinda partial to Frontier.

Plus, southwest has a lot higher percentage of navy pilots, which means you are 3 times more likely to get a back injury on landing.
and realistically, you want to fly on a plane with a cool/cute animal on the tail, not some airplane that has the cheapest airplane paint colors they make.
im kinda partial to frontier too!
My last Frontier jet had a Christmas Weasel on the tail. Guess their running out of animals.

Maybe Erma the Ermie? Oh, and I highlighted something for fun!

I will be flying frontier from now on. I have had good experiences with them in the past, but I thought that I would save a few bucks and try Spirit. Did not save any money, arrived home late, pissed off and generally just happy that I survived.
You do know that Frontier is now owned by Spirit airlines and is slowly turning into them.

Not quite accurate.
Frontier was purchased about 9 months ago by a private equity group called Indigo Partners.
Indigo Partners is the same company who purchased Spirit Airlines several years ago. They transformed Spirit into what it is today and then sold Spirit to the general public via an Initial Public Offering (IPO). Indigo retained a large percentage of ownership in Spirit up until about 11 months ago when they sold their shares. It was basically a "fix-and-flip"--only with an airline.
The common assumption is that Indigo Partners will apply the same or a similar formula to Frontier Airlines. This probably explains why we're seeing an unbundling of services with separate pricing for everything they can think of.
So no, Spirit doesn't own Frontier.

The best was flying Allegiant out of the Loveland Fort Collins airport.
Dirt cheap to Vegas and Arizona. Cheap front door parking and zero security line or bullshit.
