Police are saying they aren't finding any shooter or evidence of a shooter/shooting.

Littleton PD has released the schools of lockdown. No shots fired. 1 guy in custody.

Guy probably farted loud and some body thought "gun".
100 yards from my house. Bomb squad, SWAT, Fire, EMS, Insedent Command along with Littleton/GWV etc....

[LOL]
Is this a sign of the times, full on panic at the first sign of something "frightening"? "Shit! The wind changed directions, better lock down the schools and get SWAT rolling!" [facepalm]
Idiots driving up and down the road videoing on their phones.......while driving.
GTF OUT OF MY WAY!

Does that mean you are posting and driving?
Nope. Working in the neighborhood. But as slow as they were going, probably could have.
[panic][panic][panic][panic][panic][panic][panic][panic][panic][panic][panic]
Needs more panic.
Glad to hear the little ones are alright.
A "swatting" incident, I hope the asshole that made the fake call is found and prosecuted, yeah it pisses me off.
Doing Lock-down drills already this soon in the school year?

If you see something, say something.
(Even if what you thought you might have seen was really probably nothing at all. Hey, it worked for the Nazi's with the Hitler Youth didn't it?!)

Actually Ginsue this was not a overreaction. The person who called in this so called SWATTING did it for a building located 500 feet from a k thru 8 school ( I am sure most of you can shoot that far) and blocks away from other schools. The caller stated he had shot multiple people, was holding hostages and would kill police. There was no way the school district or police could not have taken this so serious. The SWATTER needs to be held accountable.
Video shows the gamer and police interaction as police cleared building. I would bet smug smiling Mr. Gamer knows who did it.

Apparently it was due to a false report (read: prank) about an active shooter:

And a very realistic report at that. No NAZIs or wind changes involved.

I figured someone said "Bless you" or some other atrocity. Glad it was "just a prank", even though the douche who did it a complete ass, and that the kiddos are all ok.

Live video of the "swatting" in action....

skip to about 1:40 on the video to see the cops bust in
That's why you need armed teachers and LEO at each school.
Who needs a lockdown when you have superior firepower.

On another board which mentioned this, someone said that a swatting should be prosecuted as attempted murder, due to the high potential danger that the person being swatted faces.
I'm all for it! If you make such a false report like that, you should be the one screwed. It's just a matter of time until one of these turns fatal (if it's not already), best to start the harsh sentence now.

Yeap, What do you think would have happened to that dude playing video games or anyone else in that building if they had a CCW on them at the time?

CA was considering a law (not sure what it's status is) where the prankster would have to pay for the SWAT deployment (roughly $10,000)... I wouldn't be opposed to this at all.

What in the blue hell would possess someone to call the freaking SWAT team on someone because of something they did to them in a goddamn video game. Fucking punkass kids...someone is going to die because of this, and I really hope the DA brings them up on 1st degree murder charges.
Unbelievable. I'd never heard of such a thing until I saw this on the news last night. Idiotic, dangerous actions like this make me wish for the return of pillories.
It would appear that the author of said article from The Free Thought project has a REAL bug up his butt about police in general, and has omitted several salient points about the incident so as to make things seem as though the cops overreacted. For instance, with a call about a live shooter scenario, his suggestion of the police "making a phone call or sending out a single officer to knock and ask questions" is about as stupid as making these "swatting" calls.

"Excuse me, we heard there was a possible shoo-" BLAM BLAM BLAM! "Officer down." I agree... I love how so many "journalists", especially after Ferguson, are suddenly experts in LE procedure. [facepalm]
