I received the following email on Wednesday (8/27) from Gary.N.Schaible@usdoj.gov:

"ATF is pleased to announce the return of the following eForms to active service: ATF Form 5 on 8/27/2014, ATF Form 9 on 9/2/2014, and ATF Form 5300.11 (AFMER) on 9/5/2014.

Please note that at this time no date has been determined for the return of the ATF Forms 3 and Form 4 to service on the current platform. In the interim, ATF has devoted additional resources to paper forms processing within the NFA Branch to augment the volume of receipts and current pending applications."

So, Form 3 and 4s still have to file paper, but I wonder if they are going to cut the wait time down with the additional staffing?

Wait times are down a bunch from what they were last year.

I'm considering a 30 cal suppressor, so what am I looking at, time wise? I might just go with a brake, but the two hushkits in the safe are getting mighty lonely.

From what I've been seeing on different forums is that they are running about 5 months, and continuing to pick up speed.

I have not seen too many 5 month approvals. The current average times on m4carbine.net, snipershide, and the snipershop's wait time tracker all show 9 months as the current wait time for paper form 4's for trusts.

I just had my Specwar 762 that went pending on May 5th get approved yesterday and picked it up today. So just around the 5 month mark and some change. I wasn't expecting it to get approved till December or next year. Those new examiners look like they are helping shorten the wait times. Hopefully the other four cans get approved in the next couple of weeks.

I have had a bunch come back between 4-6 month's on paper forms. There is no rhyme or reason between submit times, I had a few come back a week ago that was submitted back in May but still have a few waiting since mid April.

I have had six come back in the last two weeks. To backup the post above this one, I still have one outstanding that was between all the others and the six that did come in are between 10 and 5 months old..... Strange.
