View Full Version : Recommend a brass catcher
This is for use at the CD Team Match by the carbine shooter. If it's a dumb idea for some reason, please say so.
Tim, I don't know what the CD team match is so note sure the exact goal. The link below leads to 3 options, 2 attach to the rifle but generally don't work well as they can induce FTE stoppages. The third assumes you are prone in place and I have seen these work well for shooters in tight spaces or indoor ranges.

It is not a dumb idea, but not a good one and I would not recommend it. I've seen maybe a dozen people use them in competition, and everyone of them had some sort of problem. Not to mention, you can not really see into the chamber, so ROs are going to make you take it off to show clear. I'd say let $20 worth of brass go before spending more on something that might cost you a headache, malfunctions and/or even a safety issue.

Ample chested gal in a low cut top standing next to you.
Best brass catcher around and you can show your chivalrous side helping her get them out.
See?
Win-win!

Unless the ample chest does not belong to your wife. [Coffee]

I've never used one in competition, but I do use this one in the field:

Quick & easy to install or remove. Adjustable. Still able to access all the standard controls.

I was going to suggest some things, but everyone else beat me to it. What they said, except for Bert, he nailed it. Again.
Competition is not the place for these things, the range, yes. Competition, nope.

This is a high end brass catcher that will swing out of the way so you can show clear to your RO.

I have one of the non-swing away versions and it's built very solid, unlike most BC's which tend to be flimsy.
