View Full Version : Even better; NY Man Rips Own Head Off
http://crimefeed.com/2014/09/ny-man-rips-head/
According to police reports, at 9:35 AM, 51-year-old Thomas Rivera parked his car on Longfellow Ave. near Randall Ave.,, in Hunts Point. He then tied a chain from his neck to a pole and stepped on the gas pedal of his 2005 Honda CRV.
I'm trying to understand how his head was still attached to the chain. You'd think his head would fall out of the noose once free of the torso. I need pics. I dunno...
I score it a 9.9 for creativity.
I'm glad he didn't use a gun

Maybe he thought he was a zombie.
If I had to drive a freakin CRV I would probably do the same.

Yeah, not bad.
Failure in life, but at least he was a winner [sort of] in death.

Chains are dangerous! We need to make people register their chains since they kill people!

If it saves only one head, wouldn't it be worth it?

Hah, that made me laugh out loud.

Seems like an odd way to go about things. He couldn't just down a bottle of sleeping pills with a fifth of whiskey?
This guy is tied with Budd Dwyer on my list of favorite people.

How was that going to help him jack up his shitty vehicle?

Hunts Point-He probably owed somebody money and got off easy....
This brings up a good point- it could be a faked suicide, since it's so odd... since it's so gruesome, and it seems easy to stage.

I hope he was wearing his set belt.
I can't believe no one has said it yet...

I'll +3 that especially for the location. Compstat has turned a lot of murders into suicides in the big cities. A LOT. Well, and we can't even blame it all on comstat. I've heard a couple good ones over there in Fremont too.... Haven't validated those two stories myself though.
This is of a nature though that someone easily could easily gas the car for him... There would probably be witnesses though which is the only thing in his factor. But, a lot of witnesses in places like that "don't see nuthin'"
There have been some that were suspicious.. also had a neighbor that used to be connected in Pueblo- and he advised their current M.O. when they want somebody gone is to set them up for a sex offense- get an underage girl to accuse them... Jurys tend to convict just based on the horror of the crime, and will look past a lack of evidence. Being convicted and labelled as a sex offender is a fate worse than death.
If that fails, then fake suicide has the bonus of the next of kin not getting any insurance policy payout.

A fitting use of a CRV
A fitting use of a CRV
Likely the first time a CRV has ever pulled anything with authority.

I was gonna call bullshit on this one... everyone knows a CRV doesn't have that kind of power... [Coffee]

I'd agree with you, but it depends on the slack in the chain... even a 2500# POS with no power has a bit of kinetic energy with some slack...
I pulled vehicles that were stuck in a ditch out with a 2WD '79 Dodge D50 (re-badged Mistubishi)... the secret was the tow rope made out of 1" nylon rope... it stretched and then yanked them out... I'd be doing around 10mph by the time I hit the end of the slack...
made me good money, I'd bet them $50 I could get them out... I never lost, wouldn't take on lost causes- and that was late '80s dollars!

There you go, crushing my joke with that silly evil thing Liberals hate "Logic"... I'd say even a Prius could achieve what this guy did in the CRV- just find a hill... [LOL]

reminds me of the (lame) joke about the easiest way to make a Prius hit 150mph...
drop it out of an airplane... even a hang glider should do

Now you know that joke has been around at least 30 years.
I remember telling that one to my boss in 85. He saw my GTO and talked about how he had a "Judge" that would do 150. I asked "What airplane did he drop it out of" Explaining how the laws of physics and gear ratio vs tire size vs RPM works was to no good.
I finally explained that one might get 5500 out of a RAIII so that meant just over 120. 150mph meant 6500 RPM and the stock rods would have departed long before that.[LOL]
And those of that remember the truth 99% of the cars back then were sketchy over 100 and a true 120+ was never to be forgotten on the tires and suspension of the day.
If I had to drive a freakin CRV I would probably do the same.
LMAO !!

Did his body land on his head causing his head to be up his ass? Otherwise I don't see the comparison.

If the guy really had the balls to link a chain around his neck, and around a solid fixed object........and drive off to achieve the end result........
Nice job !! I'm giving extra creativity points on that.

Im going with some others and calling BS. His head may have been ripped off by a combo of chain, stationary object and CRV, but I doubt he did it himself.

Yelling "Allahu Ahkbar" as he hit the throttle. Maybe it would go viral in the Middle East...
