I have a YHM Phantom QD that has dried up, cruddy Rocksett in the threads. Either I buy a 5/8-24 tap at @ $40 to clean those threads, or maybe someone here has a tap that would do this for me. I'd send you the FH in the mail with return postage and maybe a little something for your hassle. PM me if you're interested/ available to do this.

I could be wrong, but I thought rocksett will come off if you soak it in hot water for a few hours. It's not stuck on the barrel, right - you're just trying to clean up the gunk in the threads? You might try that first. Boil up some water and then soak it for a few hours and see if it comes off any easier.
I had a similar situation. No amount of soaking and cleaning with a small wire brush would clean it sufficiently. Ran a tap through it and it was good to go.
If you end up buying a tap make sure to get a bottoming tap to get down to all of the threads.

Ray, that was the ticket...just ordered a bottoming tap from Amazon. Made in the US and free two day shipping.

Still soak it in hot water prior to running the tap down it.
One technique I use is a bolt of same diameter/thread, dremmel a channel along the length, and use that to chase out the crud. The channel allows room for crud to escape/accumulate. A tap, much harder than a bolt, can damage the existing threads if not careful. YMMV
