For the first time in 35 years, scientists were able to confirm a statistically significant and sustained increase in stratospheric ozone, which shields the planet from solar radiation that causes skin cancer, crop damage and other problems.
From 2000 to 2013, ozone levels climbed 4 percent in the key mid-northern latitudes at about 30 miles up, said NASA scientist Paul A. Newman. He co-chaired the every-four-years ozone assessment by 300 scientists, released at the United Nations.

So...yeah.

Well, I will give credit to the tree huggers who have correctly predicted global warming, protected the rain forests, drive Prius cars, and made sure jet airliners expel ozone protecting agents into the atmosphere.

When were CFCs banned?

We barely understand why it does what it does, but we'll certainly take credit for it.

Oh, the hubris of mankind. There is no limit.

I just hugged a hunter, AND an angler.

Apparently you are watching hulu, as I just watched the same commercial. I tried to hug myself, then felt weird about it, not ghey, but kind of like that weird friend that wants to hug you, and you are kind of like...oh....hey...buddy. Yeah a handshake or something would suffice, but you're welcome.

Vacation makes the mind wander. 2 weeks you'll be ready for rehab, Or some NoCo shooting time. Bust that muzzle loader out.

Nothing like black powder, pour some down the barrel, take a snort, and have a great time!

In other news- arctic ice has increased as well... Any more false predictions from the enviro-hippies gonna be proven wrong? I think so...

Less carbon monoxide (CO), more O3.
IMHO. Technology in vehicles are partially to thank.

BTW, these stupid tree huggers are probably burning more octane and kerosene than I do. They probably travels more than we do in order to attend quarterly "tree huggers meeting" all over the nation. Saving $$ is basically not polluting. Not tree hugging or some other bull crap. Worry about CO2 now? Go spend $82,000 and buy a Tesla S. I sure am not going to pay 82k for it. (if it is under 28k, we will talk).

Save $ to travel less
Save $ to drive less
Save $ to use less electricity
Save $ to water my lawn less than avg.

My advice to tree huggers:
Why waste gas $ to go to tree hugging meeting all over the place? Why waste time, money and pollute? it is just simple. Just save time and stay home to save $. You will automatically pollute less. [LOL]

The science was settled, the steps we have taken are proving to be working, we must continue to do more so that this healing trend will continue,

assholes, this will be and excuse to expand their dipshit ideas, how many groups now have been outed for falsifying their global warming data...

you want me to believe in your idea stop f...... lying to get your point across

Just so everyone knows, the ozone layer blocks ultraviolet, which is bad for human skin. It is unrelated to climate change claims. Also there are a few ships out in the ocean burning sludge fuel, and the remaining two-stroke engines put out magnitudes more CO2 than all cars and trucks combined.

...and all of that pales in comparison to natural volcanic activity.

Yes, a lot of us are aware ozone's claim to fame is blocking UV but there is one link to the false claims about climate change or CAGW which is that it's typically the same parties freaking out over both. I used to believe the alarmist frets about depletion of the ozone but they seemed to pioneer the same kinds of leaps of logic that the CAGW crowd later perfected. I found it quite interesting that ozone high up was good and ozone down here was bad. Photons don't really care where they are blocked nor does my skin as long as the UV photons are blocked or mitigated before hitting my skin.

I love science but there's a lot of alarmist BS masquerading as science these days.

Question on that note... don't plants consume CO2 and convert it into O2? I know the numbers are minuscule, but don't we all exhale CO2 as well? Don't cattle produce a crap ton of CO2? (pardon the pun). And further, water vapor is also a greenhouse gas, while CO2 makes up about 1/2 of a percent, water vapor can be anywhere from 2-4%... but no one can figure exactly how much impact either gas makes on the overall warming of the planet, so it very well could be all to do about nothing.
