Don't let this happen to you.

Looks like good material for Advil's marketing dept. BTW anymore details on this?

From what I heard... it was a .45
Guy walks up to the firing line with it loaded and had his finger in the trigger guard. The rest it history.

Not sure on the accuracy of the story... or his abilities for that matter :D

It looks like he lucked out (well kinda) by using ball. Them boots would have made for some good expansion by the time it blew off those two toes, which I'm sure he'll loose anyways.

I think he was lucky it was in the toe area and not in the upper leg or ankle!

I got an e-mail the other day saying it was a shotgun slug. There were other pics in the message that showed the guy with what looks like a double barrel.

I'm sure there are a bunch of different stories going around about this one.
Truth of it is.... if it was self inflicted then he needs to find a new hobby.

Might make a good RedWing add. Should have had his steel toed boots on.
Hmm...gonna have to find my old work boots and see if they are bullet proof.

I can't remember where I saw this somewhere else but the story was he was resting his 20Ga slug gun on his foot and managed to pull the trigger.

I can somewhat sympathize with the guy. I did the same thing when I was a kid. Only it was with a BB gun.[Bang]

Ahhh yes, but the difference here is that he's an adult with a powerful weapon and your foot should not be used as a weapon rack.

And I'm not sure that's true either. Not enough burns from that close of a muzzle flash. A 20Ga would do a lot more damage if it was resting on the foot.
Just the percussion alone I would think would cause more damage.

I'm no expert but it looks like that might not be too far fetched. He appears to have some burning around the wound and a bit around the edge of the hole in the boot. I've seen two different gun shot wounds and the entrance wounds were pretty clean (both guys were hit from a bit of a distance)

Looks like he was lucky enough to have had a light load in there.

Nice find. I did a search and didn't find anything but rumors about the story.

This reminds me of the cop that shot himself in the foot. If it was a black foot I would say it was his. But if you don't know the cop story google cop shoots himself. He says "I am the only one in the room trained to to handle a glock foaty" then bam shoots himself. LOL

How does something like that even heal? lol

I swear when I'm done with school and someone comes into the ER like that I'm just gonna look at 'em. That's it. [ROFL1]

He's a DEA or local drug enforcement guy at in a class room. I remember seeing that video. I thinks it's funny as hell, yet scary at the same time.
Idiot brings a loaded gun into a high school class room. He could have shot anyone the way he was acting. He should have been fired as soon as he arrived in the ER.

Well, that 'tard is going to have a really wierd looking scar. I know, I have one on my left foot, buy NOT from a GSW, I just burned a hole through mine, steel toe boot and all. Takes a long time to heal.

Based on the charing and powder burns on the shoe leather, I can tell you all for certain it was a shotgun and it was resting directly on the shoe regardless of the link. If it was 1"-3" above the shoe there would be distinct stippling around the hole in the leather from burning powder but no burning on the edges of the hole. If it was 3" to 3', the powder stippling would be more spread out. Over 3', no powder stippling. Based on the hole, I suspect a 12 gauge, but need a scale in the photo to tell conclusively.

This is clearly 100% failure to keep his booger picker off the boom lever.

It is not: Ready, Fire, Aim
Needs to work on the sequence to get it right.
