View Full Version : Anyone know a good shop for shocks
My shocks are going out and I need to get them replaced. Anyone know of a good shop so I can call and get an idea of pricing. It's a 2006 ram 1500 5.7 hemi

Check with tmleader. He might do domestic.
Try Sears. I had them do a full replacement on my 04 Trailblazer a few months ago when they had a special (Monore shocks). They did all 4 for $322 which was $200 cheaper then anywhere else by far.
Truck drives and feels great.
High Country 4x4. Jason works there, he is a shooter. They carry Bilstein, good shocks, lifetime warranty, plus others.
I put a set of Bilstein's on my F250. Not hard once the truck is on the lift. I can definitely feel the difference.

Order them and change them yourself
I don't even bother with the lift to change truck shocks, takes about 15 minutes per, but I guess the 6" lift and 35s give me more room to work. [Flower]

Buy local at Four to Go and do 'em in the driveway.

if you don't have the tools i do, a bit of a drive.
Definitely do them yourself. Save a lot and a good learning experience, I'm sure several on here would volunteer or you can watch youtube and easily see how to do it yourself on your own time/pace
I put a set of Bilstein 5100 on my F250 last weekend and there was a dramatic improvement in the ride, I would highly recommend them. Took about an hour and a half in the driveway. Best prices I found were amazon and eshocks. I'm in Lone Tree if you need any tools.
Another fan of Bilsteins, had them on my GMC 1500 and recently put a set on my '03 Tahoe, big improvement. I dealt with Jazz It Up off Arapahoe and Dayton, good guys.

Bert was the first to say it......it aint that hard, brother.
You can do it, the good folks here can help you along with it if you're uncertain about it. I'll help you get started on it.
Another vote for Bilstein. Stay away from Monroe branded stuff. Easy to do on a Ram. Sears and Pepboys offer cheap labor and package pricing. Spray the hardware a few days before. 2 hours ish

Buy the shocks, then come over. I'll show you how to change them. Or just change them for you.
