What I'm really looking for is whether the cost of the G2S is worth double the RRA. Is there a noticeable, worthwhile difference for an 'average' shooter?

Does anyone here have any real world experience with both?

I have a RRA 2 stage, am happy with it and have exp with some milsurps so I'm familiar with 2 stages, and I do better accuracy work with 2 stage triggers. Dunno why, just do.
This trigger will go into a 6.8 that's a hunting rifle. It will never be a high volume 3 gun or carbine class rifle.

I've read the RRA's fail on occasion and go single stage, truth or urban legend? Anyone ever experience that?

How much does the RRA cost? G2S is $110 and I'm seeing the RRA 2-stage at ~$100.

Where'd you find the G2S for 110? I'll buy a couple today for that price.

The AimSurplus was a pre-order deal. I learned about it after the fact.
Typically the G2S goes for around $140.00 and the RRA around $85.00 new.

Might have been nice to see that in Buyer Intel when it was still pertinent.

The Geissele is without a doubt worth it.

The RRA are decent triggers and if set up correct, they are a very good value for a decent trigger. Personally, I think the Gs are over-hyped and over-priced, so the only ones I have owned were off prize tables. I have since removed them and sold them.

If I wanted a better trigger than the RRA, I would get a Jard 2 stage. Better than both, and you can get an adjustable version: http://www.jardinc.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=13:ar-15-two-stage&catid=19:ar-15-two-stage&Itemid=6

The Rock River is a good trigger but I have had one fail.

What happened when it failed? Went single stage, broke? Curious.
Were you using it hard? High round count?

My rifle with trigger failure was one of 4 Rock River rifles used by my agency. It had about 1000 rounds through it and was not used hard.

The trigger pull became very light and examination showed engagement surfaces were worn and uneven. It still worked but it was not safe. Rock River replaced the trigger and the problem has not returned in that or any of the other rifles.

Rock River is a great company and I am have several of my own. I highly recommend them to others for a rifle in this price range.

I've had both the regular RRA 2 Stage, their Match version, and The Geissele National Match 2 Stage. They are all "good" triggers, but I have yet to see any 2 stage that is as even, consistent, and smooth as the Geissele. Especially down the road as things start to wear a bit.

Once you get used to a 2-stage trigger, you wont want anything else. Even more so when you want to do anything long range/precise. Nothing wrong with a good single stage, but for me the 2-stage has a few more on the plus side.

I even have a Geissele trigger in my M-16. Two stage in semi, single stage in full.

Hoser, I totally agree on the 2-stage triggers. Wish I had them in my hunting rifles too.
I'll try the G2S. I have a RRA and it's 'okay'. What really bugs me are all the comments I see about their failure rate.

If I had a m16, I would only have 1 stage....FULL AUTO ftmfw!!!

Anyone who wants a G2S should check out the Buyer Intel forum. $131.19 shipped. Best deal I've found on new.

I haven't tried the RRA, but I love the Geissele SDC. It feels lighter than the standard single stage + JP Enterprise Yellow springs I had before. Those are supposed to be 3 pounds and the SDC 4.5 pounds, but it still feels far better. Never used the RRA for comparison, but if you're ever in the Springs hit me up and I'll let you shoot it.
