PSA Dissapator?? Any good??

I may have an opportunity to trade into a Palmetto State Armory Dissipator, supposed to be a complete as from the factory carbine. Honest opinions of their quality? Any issues I should be aware of?

I went to the PSA website and they sell uppers only. Looked at other forums and no concrete info there. YouTube was of no real help.

I don't think they sell a complete dissy rifle. My money would be the owner bought a lower and an upper and put it together. If it is one of their premium uppers and you are getting a good deal on it, go for it.

I picked up a PSA Dissy upper for $270 shipped on the 4th of July, seems pretty good so far. Entire build was ~$500.

I'm not familiar with their dissipators, but all the uppers I've bought from them have been just fine, and I've bought quite a few.

If it is a PSA "Dissapator", it is actually what PSA calls a "Faux Dissapator" a mid length gas system with a low profile gas block under the rifle length hand guards.

I have read on the Internet ( so it mush be true ) that true Dissapators suffer from cycling problems due to a rifle length gas system port being too close to the muzzle end of a 16" barrel.

Cycling reliability depends on a few factors with a dissy build. Yes the dwell time is reduced due to the gas port being close to the end of the barrel. Barrel manufacturers can compensate by using a larger diameter gas port. I build a dissapator upper using a Delton barrel that is 100% reliable using any ammo I want as long as I use a lighter (semi auto) BCG. I used a full auto BCG and it still worked with all the ammo I tried except for Tula .223 steel cased.

The rifle length sight radius is great for iron sights and the rifle length gas makes for one of the smoothest shooting AR's that I have ever used.
