Looking for thoughts on a scope

I'm wanting to put a scope on one of my ARs for small game stuff. 16in bbl 1/7 twist. I'm looking at a Vortex Crossfire Ii 3x9x40 or a Nikon p223. I'm doing this on a budget. Just looking for some insight

I would cross the Crossfire off your list. I had one, poor glass and lots of parallax.
