Funny you should ask, my kids were just asking if they should sell their Xbox 360 Skylanders. :)

They are great and a lot of fun, my kids used to play all the time but after a year or so they finally moved on. Even my wife used to enjoy playing with them.

I just asked and they said all are really fun so get the newest that is compatible with the older figures.

If you are interested in some used ones we just counted and we have 63 figures that are a mix of the standard, Giants and SwapForce; they characters are not platform dependent.

Whichever version you buy know that the newest characters will not alway work on the older versions. When you look at the character in the store he back of the box usually says which version they work on. We bought giants at the beginning of swap force and always had to check. Not a big deal for us but explains that to grandparents was difficult.
