View Full Version : Denver Post Endorses Cory Gardner

Congress is hardly functioning these days. It can't pass legislation that is controversial and it often can't even pass legislation on which there is broad agreement. Its reputation is abysmal, and even its members rarely dispute the popular indictment.
It needs fresh leadership, energy and ideas, and Cory Gardner can help provide them in the U.S. Senate.
WOW!!
I'm also hearing that CPUSA is pulling funding from Uterus. I'm googling for links to support what I heard

Patiently waiting for the other foot to fall, somethings gotta be up. Just kinda smells [pileoshit]
I could be wrong of course, but this just seems a little shocking, and my knee jerk reaction is to not believe something like this from those clowns
Oh No! What is the party of dead babies going to do now? I think the democrat position that abortion must be protected at all cost should be thrown in there face as the "democrats war on kids". Maybe the Post got tired of hearing the same abortion shit from the democrat play book that they have dragged out every election since the 80's. I doubt it, something's in the works, wait for the other shoe to drop.
Yes!!
From the Denver Post endorsement:
Rather than run on his record, Udall’s campaign has devoted a shocking amount of energy and money trying to convince voters that Gardner seeks to outlaw birth control despite the congressman’s call for over-the-counter sales of contraceptives. Udall is trying to frighten voters rather than inspire them with a hopeful vision. His obnoxious one-issue campaign is an insult to those he seeks to convince.
Many Coloradans are no doubt sick of the overload of negative ads that have assaulted them from both sides, painting Gardner as an extremist and Udall as a mindless vote for the president's policies. Neither portrait is fair. But in their irritation with the campaigns, voters should not lose sight of the fact that a great deal is at stake. A dysfunctional Congress calls for action when voters have an attractive option to the gridlocked status quo. And in Colorado, thankfully, they do in Cory Gardner.
Still waiting for April fool's response...

On the other hand the Post had a glowing endorsement for Hick the other day. No real surprise there of course.

How bad does a Dem have to be to lose the Denver ComPost's endorsement? Guess we have a clue ...

Yeah, no kidding!
[LOL]
I think they quietly endorsed Gardner so that closer to election day they can make a huge deal about him doing ____. Then all the local TV stations can say "breaking story" the Post is dropping their endorsement of Gardner and strongly endorsing Udick.

I am surprised as well. I think Udall really blew it by going negative from the very beginning, and until just recently, running a single issue campaign. Most voters just don't care about abortion, and the "war on women" crap is insulting and turning off a lot of voters. I guess when you have absolutely nothing concrete and positive to run on then you just have to make stuff up. The Post editorial board was probably holding their noses when they wrote this endorsement. They are still a bunch of libs o matter what.
The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, the largest newspaper on the Western Slope, has also endorsed Gardner. That's almost a surprise since the new(ish) publisher is an apparent left winger and the editorial staff writings have been more wishy-washy leftist for the past few years.

This article reminds me of the old saying "you can do anything you want on your last day"

I doubt that they wanted to do it- I think it's likely because the editors want the Post appear "fair and balanced". They weren't going to throw in against Hick, so they're throwing Udall under the bus using a shoddy campaign to justify their decision.
