You know it is going to be a rough day when you are not paying attention to what you are doing and end up blocking a state hwy for at least half a day. Especially one that is busy

Glad it was them and not me.

Any detour was pretty much 20 miles out of the way.

Ha, just the other day I was stopped in Pueblo for an hour as a semi figured out that his load was too tall for the bridge....

Hope your day turns around... pun intended.

What exactly did he do? Looks like maybe he was trying to take an extra wide turn and ended up in the ditch?

I had to go "off roading" for a similar situation yesterday... Truck tried to make a turn that was WAY to tight. He ended up taking out several concrete posts in the median and my truck got showered with little bits of concrete. I looked back and it looked like he blew out a tire two. Glad I decided to get [mostly] out of the way!

Probably going to cost a shiney new dime to fix. Three axle tractor is buried to axles on one side, first jeep is buried to axles one side and low boy is high centered on crown of road. Gonna take alot of iron and horse power to fix this one.

One large crane and two heavy haul tow trucks and several hours to clear IMO. Probably $5000 + fines.

Approach from west is lower elevation than road he was turning onto as well as the shoulder/ditch where he is stuck. When he swung wide to make turn he high centered the trailer on the crown of the road.

Once high centered instead of trying to back up and take different approach, red neck driver with 500 HP Cat tried to power over and drag trailer clear. The shoulder/ditch was soft and he buried the tractor making the high centered situation worse.

No, I stopped out of the way took a few pics and razzed the rednecks. Trucking company and escort/pilot company are both experienced over size, heavy haul outfits. They know better and should never have misjudged this one. Very embarrassing one for them.

What was he carrying that he need that giant trailer for, is there uranium in that structure?

cstone

I would assume the pilot company will eat that one. No one injured but some pride. I hope no one loses their job, but as you pointed out, it is a costly error.

Just the building, but it is very heavy. Usually has equipment and fabrication (pipe typically) and insturmentation.

Building is built on a skid made from 8" channel and I beam with the voids filled with concrete. Skid probably weighs 60-80,000 lbs.

Building looked to be 24 x 48.

I'm sorry! I know it is low, but my buddys dad owns a trucking company, they have 1 KW and it is by far the most problematic truck they have and has the least amount of miles on it.

I forgot to check on the way home to see if they gouged up the asphalt getting tractor unstuck and the trailer around the corner.

Had not heard what it ended taking to get them back down the road.
