Wife is afraid I'm having a seizure since I'm sitting here in front of the computer mumbling and drooling.
They make this rig in .300 blackout and I'll have to sell a kidney or something.
That is awesome.... now who has mags that work?

My mags work with mine, both the USG surplus and the Magpuls.

You have USG surplus and Magpul 9mm AR magazines? Of course if I ever bought a 9mm Tavor I'd dig into the cache of Colt 9mm AR mags that I bought LONG before 7/1/13 yeah, long before.

I wish they had shot it at a range that wasn't full of people shooting non-suppressed weapons.. you can barely hear the tavor (and not because it has a silencer on it...)

No, my mistake, I looked fast and missed the fact it was 9mm. [facepalm]

They are talking about making a 5.56 but it will likely be significantly longer if not different in other ways. 9mm is a lot easier than a rifle caliber to suppress.
I looked into it, because I really want a space ray gun. But you figure you have to buy the Tavor, the 9mm conversion kit, and the suppressor/handguard, it adds up fast.
Seriously, I don't know "practical" it is but dang if I don't want one. Maybe we take up a collection, and put everybody's name on the trust, and we'll pass it around one week at a time to everyone? ;)
Signed up for the mailing list for this the other day. Not even available yet. We will see...

Yeah, I like the design but at $739-899 for the 9mm conversion kit, I don't care that their suppressor is only $400. Doesn't matter anyway as most of the places I've seen the conversion kit advertised refuse to sell to Colorado (as well as the other Commie states), presumably because of the 32 round magazine.
One of my distributors is showing a native 9mm Tavor that has a model number and all, but is not yet available. I contacted IWI for info, as that would drop the cost quite a bit if you can live without 5.56. Either way, there is still the mag issue. However, it does use those standard Colt 9mm mags that you all had stashed away prior to the ban, so that helps. Supposedly there are a few conversions out there to use Uzi mags as well.
Most of my distributors are still shipping conversion kits to FFLs in Colorado if we sign the waiver, but we'd have to remove the mag before we sell it to you of course. But the point is I'm sure it's possible to get a conversion kit in someone's hands if you wanted one. You're just on your own for the 9mm mags.

Well if things go right in the next few weeks maybe we'll be on the road to reversing this crap.
As awesome as this 9mm suppressed Tavor is, for much less I'd rather just put this upper (http://www.coastalgun.com/Home/300Blackout.aspx) on my AR and be done with it ... but damn that Tavor is sweet.
A vote for a republican is a vote for the M41A Pulse Rifle!
Would you like to know more? ;)
(yes I know that's two different movies, so sue me)
Granted, look sweet!
IMO:
Pro:
Looks sweet
Keeps it short
Good price - if you already have a 9mm Tavor
Con:
Tavor is an awful big/heavy 9mm
Would expect to get very warm
How do they keep it from leaking with the slip fit of the brake into the suppressor core, and the core into the housing?
This interests me. Loves me some suppressed Tavor.

Pity they (and everyone else) can't just make Glock mags the defacto form and be done with it.

Agreed 100%. The two most cost effective & reliable magazines in existence might be Pmags & Glock OEM mags. If I was building a new system it would utilize one of those two mags depending on caliber.

Overpriced turd. I wanted one years ago and I'm SO glad I never got one.

Meh, I'm happy with my Beretta mags. I have no issues with any of them and I can use them in both my M9 and my Storm.

Is that the Gear head works ejection cover you have on there? Was thinking about getting one. Tired of being "gassed" when the suppressor is on it. Does it work?

Yours? How do you like it... I was on the fence.
I was on the pre-order list for that suppressor and when they called me to pay up I realized I would have to have a 2nd rifle because I wouldn't want to be constantly be changing back and forth and I love that platform in 5.56mm. I also decided that a dedicated 9mm Tavor w/that suppressor ultimately wouldn't fit the bill I was looking to fill as it would be to big/clunky for the streamlined role I wanted it to play. I felt like I'd have $2k plus tied up into a platform that ultimately wouldn't fit my role as well as say a SBR'd MP5 clone, CZ Scorpion Evo 3 or M92 all with stocks & suppressors. I'd be curious to handle yours to see if I made the right decision or not. It looks about as secksi as I pictured and I may just be peanut butter and jelly. lol
Have not gotten a chance to shoot mine a bunch yet...

Yes, that's the gear head ejection cover. With the 556 suppressed the cover does prevent gas expelled from that area/side, but the blowback is still overwhelming after rapid fire.

I totally understand. I already had the dedicated 9mm Tavor and thought this would be a great way to go. I'll definitely be looking at additional 9mm platforms to SBR.
I have no problem with you checking out my Tavor, but unfortunately I leave for the east coast Monday and won't be back in Colorado until November or December.

I have a Quarter Circle 10 SBR AR9 that I built. LOT's of fun! It uses the Colt pattern mags. Maybe something to consider since it uses the same mags as the Tavor 9?
