Republican Tony Spurlock
Libertarian Brock McCoy

What say people?

Seems like Spurlock was appointed in July after the previous Sheriff was given another job. He's been in that dept for 33 years. He posts to his Facebook page almost daily.
McCoy has been with the dept for 28 years, seems like he's been in a lot of positions with them. He's got a pretty basic website, and very little web presence. He's got a Facebook page he's posted on 3 times this month, and only a few times before that.

I could tell you a lot of stories about the both of them, but it would take me all day to write. Let's just say neither are the ideal candidate.

I ended up voting for Spurlock. McCoy's website was unnecessarily inflammatory and Spurlock was given the job by the last Sheriff, who was against the new gun laws, so I'll side with him there.

Only spot left to vote for is Governor on my ballot.

There's the candidate that CAN win, and the candidate I would like to win.

That has to be the least helpful post I've ever seen.... and there have been some really, really, unhelpful posts. :)

Could you at least say that if the only thing someone cares about is the 2nd amendment than ****** is the better choice? :) I'd have to guess that if someone fully supports the 2nd then they support the 4th as well.

I don't know where either sit on those items. It isn't something that comes up in conversation frankly.

Apparently you live in a very different world than I do... and I work with a bunch of tech liberals from San Francisco. :)

EDIT - I have three family member who are LEO or retired and I'm not sure we've ever had a discussion that wasn't about guns and the 2nd amendment. At my grandmas funeral the first thing my uncle, who is retired after 30 years with Douglas County (then a US Martial), asked me was what I was carrying.

Apparently so as you say, since you don't know me.

I'm just saying that it would be hard for me to spend much time with any LEO and not get an idea where they stand on the 2nd amendment. I'm not sure what your job is so there may be political issues that keep the subject from coming up but as someone who isn't involved in law enforcement I usually bring it up pretty quickly in social situations.

I generally don't talk about firearms in casual discussion with people I'm not close friends with.
