Just thought I'd share. It's not perfect, with the modern lower, but I love the handling of it. So nice and light, and very handy.

She's a beauty. I've got an 11.5 on an A2 upper right now, but just picked up an A1 upper that I plan on changing it to. Eventually I plan on having it look like yours. Love the size and weight.

Just curious, 10.5 or 11.5 on this one?

It's actually 10.02 inches. Due to injury, I haven't been able to really put it through it's paces, but so far zero issues in about 120 rounds.

I've also never had issues with a 10.5 or 11.5 before, though some will argue that 10.5 or less is less reliable.

Yeah, I've heard that too. I think the gas port size has been pretty well figured out making the 10's pretty good. I've had great performance with my 11.5 and I run a 10.3 in a more modern platform. Love them both.

I should mention that yes, I did have the gas port properly bored, as well. I imagine that if you didn't, you would have trouble.

I road test them before enlarging anything. 98% have been GTG from 10.5 - 12.5

That is a nice build! I remember having to qualify for the M-4 several years ago in the Air Force before a deployment. They were so confused that I needed to be qualified on an M-4 (I was going to be embedded with the Army.) They didn't have any available at CATM because they didn't want me to qual on a SFS member's duty weapon, they had one of these laying around apparently, and had me fire this one.

After Personnel folks looked at my qualifications, I got to go back and fore the M4. LOL
