Of course she's a hypocrite on the gun thing...she's a democrat. But, hypocrite or not, it sounds like she may have been carrying legally (doesn't sound like they have the evidence to get the "intoxicated" thing to stick) and the offenses for which she was charged are quite minor. It's certainly not the crime of the century so I doubt it'll have any bearing on her ability to legally carry and there probably isn't much to be "swept under the rug".
