Anyone have an opinion on these yet?

Looks cool. Knowing Ruger I'm surprised they are even selling these. They seem to be one step ahead of the Gov. when it comes to restrictions. And also knowing Ruger I bet the trigger is a clean 15lbs or higher from the factory.

Looks awesome! I might have to sell an AK!

What are these going for? I found one site that showed MSRP of $1999. For that price, I'll get a POF!

Very cool. I am very positive about Ruger doing this. The Fudds will hopefully become more willing to buy them, and accept them and possibly fight to keep them around if/when BHO tries to go after them. Right now it is a hot issue and Pelosi knows the losses from last time can not be had again. She will wait for the right time to put it in when they can accept losses, or they will just slowly take things little at a time and never put in a BIG AWB, just little restrictions here and there....death by 1000 cuts.

The Ruger is a good thing. I don't see the point of buying one myself since I already have several others, but they look very nice.

I like the adjustable gas system, it's gas piston operated...chromed internals (just about everything, bolt, barrel, gas piston, etc) but still has the standard charging handle location & forward assist.. if it's gas piston operated, I'd like to see a bolt handle instead, and an option of a folding stock... but that's just me...

given the gas system, and the features, if it were under $1000, it'd fly off the shelves... the MSRP of $2k is high
initial street prices seem closer to $1500...

I like this quote that I read on arfcom:
"Awesome.

With the crazy demand blowback from the election, and another major mfg like Ruger (isn't Para getting in, too?), there'll be a glut on the market in a few months. Add to that the competition effect, and we're looking at a Golden Age of civilian-legal "assault" rifles. "

I think he could have a point there...

I've got two on the way. Hope they shoot well.

I'm glad to see more mfgs getting into this style weapon. I would prefer a more Sig 556 style above another piston AR, especially for that price range.

Well, they came in yesterday. Haven't shot them yet, too busy getting 'em all ninjafied. They sure feel good. Probably going to be selling the other AR's I have. Went looking for zombies last night, but couldn't find any.[Tooth]

If it's like other Ruger guns (and I have a few), you will invent new cuss words trying to get it apart to clean it.

+1000 on that. I actually had to break out the manual to figure out how to get the bolt out of my Mark III pistol. Man is that thing a pain in the ass to take apart.

That always happens to me when I'm all prepared for them too, but let your guard down for a minute and BAM! they got you.

Try the mark one sometime. You wouldn't think its possible, but its worse. Just as hard to take down, much much harder to reassemble. I've had the manual and three forums open in the past just trying to figure out how to get the mainspring in right. Don't know how you would have figured it out in 1950.

+1000 I got my Mark I & II from my dad and was too embarassed to admit I couldn't figure out how to break them down that I wouldnt ask him. Specialty Sports had the President of Ruger and several Ruger employees in the store late last summer and I finally got up my courage and asked them. I was starting to think that it was made to not be broken down. I really need to pick up a manual for the MK I.

These come apart just like any other AR. The Mini takes down just like a M1A, I guess I am lucky enough to have easy Rugers. Blackhawks, Security Six, Single Six, 10/22's.[Beer]

I also read it on Guns and Ammos. Sounds like a fun gun to shoot with. I wonder how the sales on those are.

Got one, Could not ask for anything better. I love the shear reliability, and it can shoot just about any load. even extremely light ones with ease.
