View Full Version : Is this how it's done?
http://www.funker530.com/iraqi-rambo-has-close-call-with-isis-sniper/
After sending about 700 rounds down range from the exact same firing position, ISIS fighters finally catch on to the location of the Hollywood machine gunners after spotting their white socks.
The round seems to miss the 240 gunner by a few inches as it punches through the weak mud cover.
According to this video, the next supply drops we send should include thousands of M240 and M249 barrels.

I assume we include instruction manuals on the weapons we give them. After-all, they figured out how to load it.

I miss her. Have you seen Barret's new receiver?
Wow. What a waste of ammo
What is the camera man so excited about? Looks like neither one of them has any idea what they are even shooting at.
I want an M240. :(
I'll probably have to settle for an M249. Glad to have this instructional video on barrel break in, I'm sure it will help.
I believe the Malians may be worse.

Gee, you think that is Lake City ammo?
Just send all our old munitions they want to spend a fortune destroying to ISIL.
They will do it on the cheap.......
I am jealous.... With destroying 16 billion in ammo, charging tax payers another billion for the privilege and now dropping arms to ISIS..... Where are we in these handouts?!?!?
Sooo.... What you are saying is maybe the plan is to send ISIS the billion dollar contract to dispose of our problem of 16 billion in excess ammo.
Good catch there Burt ;). [facepalm]

sand bags...
fill them, carry them, use them, love them... still that wall should have stopped anything below 12.7mm
The illusion of shooting something. It's like a bunch of monkeys all trying to out intimidate the others - while shitting themselves the whole time.

we are not to Dangerous, we have skills and ability.. that is why our own government does not trust us..
Funny how he dumps 700 rounds through that hole in the wall and all it takes is ONE bullet in his direction to send him running

6 pounds lighter using the same material is pretty good engineering if you ask me. Isn't the lima only about 5 pounds lighter? Ronnie and the gang do some awesome work.

The pushup answers were 26.7lbs for the B and 22.4lbs for the L. I don't think those are 100% accurate, but that's what we were ingrained with.
I wonder how this new model fares against the 48. We got a couple of those on my first deployment, they were pretty damn cool.

I seem to remember the E4 being 22.5 or so. I always felt it got a bad rap. I thought a well tuned 60 ran like a champ. Only problem was, it needed to be well tuned. I thought the bravos were far more unwieldy that the E3. 240's are good guns, but heavy and long. Never got to play with the MK48, seen the specs and heard from others that it was really the way to go.

For mobile use I'd probably go with a 48... lighter and if a bad guy is observing and mistakenly thinks our largest weapon is a SAW then all the better. For a mounted position, 240 all the way... much better system in my opinion. That said I carried the Lima and with the shorter barrel and collapsible stock, I didn't find it all that unwieldy.
Never had the pleasure of playing with a 60... they look fun.

Agree with you here. I always think mobile by default. But yeah, mounted, 240's, M2s, Mk19s all the way. Got out before the L's. They look pretty good though.

I did say 1980. Boot was at Ft. Jackson Jan-Mar and our barracks were right across from the DI school. I firmly believe that got us special attention from our DI's.
Had a TI yell at me once. He decided the hem in my fatigues was too long, and made me rip it out and hand over a 341. Spent 30 minutes that evening sewing it back in.
True story. Air Force basic is hell I tell ya.

USAF basic is all in your head..
be reasonably fit, be safe with a m16 (all two days I handled one), and be precise and focused..
when working on/around planes being precise and focused is key, cause that shit is dangerous.. (not quite the crazy flight deck of a carrier, but still not safe)
LOL I did not learn anything about tactical shooting while in the military, all just proficiency stuff...
basic:
qualified with m16 (shot it once)
flight status:
qualified with the S&W revolver (shot it once)
qualified with a xm177 (shot it once)
qualified with the M9 (shot it once) survival pack change.

The SAW is like a trophy wife, you have to watch what you feed her, have to maintain and clean her and you can't ask her to do too much.
The 240 is like your athletic mistress, you can feed her anything, she doesn't mind getting dirty, you can pound the shit out of it and she will ask for more and she loves to be used and abused, as long as you keep her lubed.
I would rather own a 249
